Help please, adding media

Hi everyone, hope youre all well.

I’m after some advice, ive just downloaded Movie Studio 16 and something strange is happening that has never happened on any other Vegas software i’ve used...

When i’m adding any media into the project media storyboard, its also putting every piece of media into the timeline too, At the moment i’m having to drag each piece of media all the way along the timeline into position and I dont want to do that, I just want to drag my media down into the timeline from the project media section.

I hope i’m making sense and hoping someone can resolve this as its turned an easy edit into a painstakingly slow effort where im spending more time sluding my media across than i am actually editing.

Thankyou

That's how it's meant to work.

You don't have to use the new Storyboard. Suggest you watch this tutorial https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/tutorials/interactive-storyboard-editing--114946/

Also check the Help item.

Okay thanks Eric, Personally I just prefer the goid old fashioned drag and drop from storyboard to timeline but hey ho, i’ll have to adapt I suppose.

The storyboard is new so previously you didn't have a "good old fashioned drag and drop from storyboard to timeline". Presumably you were dropping from a user created media bin. You can carry on doing this. Nothing has changed there, other than your user created bins are now under "Custom Bins". Just ignore the new Storyboard bin as if it doesn't exist. As the tutorial says at the beginning you don't have to use it.

The OP probably (/unfortunately) has the basic Movie Studio 16, which is different.

Thanks vk. I tend to forget the basic version exists!
