HEVC rendering gets stuck at 22%

chandan-prakash wrote on 8/17/2018, 3:54 AM

i7, 7th Gen, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti: Vegas Movie studio: 15

rendering using MAGIX HEVC NVIDIA option results in my 23 minute long video shot using GH5 getting stuck at 22% mark. please see the image attached.

UPDATE: Rendering using Sony XAVS ( same, 2160 @50 Frame ) option GETS STUCK at 58%.  ( since I cant attach more than 2 screenshots so I cant upload it.. earlier I have edited using this option in Sony vegas 14 so something wrong with sony vegas 15 then..

ANy thoughts would be appreciated.

What exactly do you mean with "getting stuck"

Your screenshot is taken while rendering frame 16127, that means at the 5 min. 22 sec and 27th frame.
Does it stop or crash?
You can look at that place if something strange is on the timeline.
Do you have enough free space on the render-to location? At least 15-16 GB?

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

if you look at ( approx time left : it shows zero ) where as only 22% work is done. this is because nothing is happening. nothing is moving... it doesnt creash.

I have 16 GB RAM LAptop.. not even 70% of it ever gets used while rendering goes on.. I have 43GB left at render-to location.

Check this FAQ. Start from section 1.

thanks. tried already. I follow most of that anyways as I have been using movie studio since version 11.

Did you try rendering in parts of the project?
F.i. split the project in 5 equal parts and render them to 5 mp4's which you can join afterwards without any problem with the free tool MP4 joiner.

i can certainly try this but this is not how a product should be sold in market.. if I cant render a 23 minute video using a decent hardware then not sure why will i use this software at all :-) . I have raised a ticket with Magix tech team also. lets see what do they suggest but in the past, they haven't been supportive in resolving my reported problem...

Hi, Any more thoughts from wise men here would be deeply appreciated. I must admit that on its own Vegas stated rendering correctly but sometimes gets stuck as reported..

I gave you this possibility not as a solution or way-around, but more as a possibility to check if somewhere maybe is a timeline problem that in this way can be tracked down.

Yes, i did it that way and was able to do it in 3 parts. but quite strangely, even the original issue went away on its own.. i didn't do anything.. it just keeps coming and going on its own. Even now, as i speak, I am rendering something. its a 2 hour long video with very minimal fx affect, 25 frame 4k , shot using lumix G7. will let you know the outcome. thanks for your continued support.

Well, processing finished but Havoc. full of artifacts. this is the issue I raised in another thread.... Badly stuck now.
