How do I convert DVD filess to media?

I followed one of the Google procedures and changed the file extension of the DVD file, (a .VOB file), that was copied to my computer to a .mpeg file. However, my Movie Studio Platinum 12.0 could only read the first 4.6 seconds of the file.

I couldn't find anything in the manual, but perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place.

How can I convert DVDs to computer readable files?

Please help.

Here and there and elsewhere too, if you "Search" these forums for "Gary James method".

I couldn't find the Gary James method on the search, but the "There" in your post gave me the "Import from DVD" instructions.

I couldn't find anything about the Gary James method on Google either. Am I searching wrong?

I have Movie Studio v12 and my PC can accept files from DVDs I've recorded. ( using the DVD-drive on the PC ).

- although I'm only interested in the Audio, the Video is transferred as well.
