There's no search function here yet but you can try searching Google with a search string something like this, replacing my user name with yours and as many specific words as you can remember, putting any specific phrases in quotes if you're sure you used them.

To search old topics until they moved here you can use the search on the archive page:

http://forum-archive.magix.info/search.asp

Thanks, that's great m2016. Would be even better in my opinion if it defaulted to "any date", which I probably use for about 9/10 of my searches. I always wished the old SCS search would default to that.

Ok, changed that.

Now that's a great search tool! When will it be part of the BETA Forum?

No search function? In a forum? What year is this?

NickHope wrote on 8/28/2016, 8:56 PM

If it's not too difficult, please give us the options to:

  1. Search for ANY of the words
  2. Search for ALL of the words
  3. Search for EXACT PHRASE

That could be done with a group of 3 radio buttons. At the moment it seems to search for ANY of the words, so if I search for "exception thrown by method called", for example, it currently returns far too many results to be useful.

Search function is already in development progress. As this here is a completely new community platform (not only a small forum as it seems to be) realized in a short time please be patient if some standard features has to be added after the launch.

Thank you. Looking forward to seeing the update sometime during Week 40/2016 if everything will be OK. I'm sure we all respect your hard work in development and will continue to be patient, if not patients. After all, it's only been five weeks, which seems to be a short time in these processes, and "a short time" in the sense that Quitter wondered about.

Sorry, i won't be disrespectful for your work, but it should be easy for the meantime to  create a button with a link to: http://forum-archive.magix.info/search.asp
this would be a great help

Quitter, as you know, the SCS forum archive Search does not search the Magix forum dates. I don't know if that could be changed.

Google have cottoned on to this forum now, so searches of this form are starting to work:

We were told here that a search function will be in the next update of the platform, and I have heard that an update is planned for this week.

Grazie wrote on 10/2/2016, 11:41 PM

Good news.

New search functionality has been added.

  • search by users is available now
  • search for exact phrases – example: "search phrase"
  • search and exclude a word – example: search -phrase
  • search and add a word – example: search +phrase
  • search with a random prefix – example: *abc
  • search with a random suffix – example: abc*
  • search with a random prefix and suffix – example: *abc*

Also, you can combine the search options – for example: "vegas pro" +proDAD
