Welcome to the new VEGAS Community!

VEGAS_CommunityManager wrote on 8/23/2016, 9:16 AM

Hi Community members,

Welcome to the beta version of the new VEGAS Community! Since taking over the majority of Sony's Creative Software products, we have been hard at work on this platform, where we're now happy to welcome each and every one of you!

How can old SCS accounts be reactivated?

We have made it our task to preserve the comprehensive knowledge stored in the old SCS forum. For this reason, all members of the old Community can continue using their accounts in this VEGAS forum. Please read the instructions for restoring your account.

Where is the content of the old audio forums?

We have stored the old content of all old audio forums in a read-only archive which you can find here.

Why a beta?

This platform is an in-house website. That means that it was coded from the ground up. Those who are familiar with the work that goes into such a project, know what a challenge it is. Because we're convinced that a platform prospers only together with its users and the community, we decided that it would be beneficial to first offer vegascreativesoftware.info as a beta version.

Have you noticed any bugs? Can usability be improved in some places? Please give us feedback! Threads will be opened specifically for these topics.

Who am I speaking to here?

As you may have guessed from my username, my name is Mathias. I'm 28 and have been working for MAGIX in Berlin for the last three years as the Community Manager. At my side is a team of programmers and graphic designers who have worked hard on developing this platform.

In addition to me, in the future there will also be volunteer moderators who are not MAGIX employees. They will support the Community in their free time with their impressive product knowledge and join discussions when they can.

We're excited to hear what you have to say about this new platform and expect many great discussions!

Greetings from Berlin,
Mathias

PS: Many thanks to those who are already involved in this project for all your input and hard work!

Welcome! Thanks for the new, more functional board - one thing though: we would do with a simple way to go back to the message listing forum level at the bottom o each thread, or at least a link to go up with a single click rather than hudreds of moue wheel scrolls....

TIA

Piotr

Maybe there is a link to forum-archive.magix.info/home on this site but I can't find it?

VEGAS_CommunityManager wrote on 8/23/2016, 12:39 PM

Hi vkmast,

you will find new audio forums at magix.info.

vkmast wrote on 8/23/2016, 12:41 PM

Yes, audio forums are there, but I am referring to archived posts.

vkmast wrote on 8/23/2016, 1:06 PM

I am hoping to see the link to the archive on the site. Users may miss a great resource if they don't even know it exists.

This is all great! Thanks for the hard work.

OK, bugs:

1) Click on email notifications and I get back to the German site. Requires me to select the US Stars and Stripes. Even though I've selected UK Union Jack in my profile.

2) My Comment has a US Timestamp, when I'm in the UK. Got to be a result of 1) above.

HTHs,

Grazie

could the section tabs be a liitle smaller, seem to take up an inordinate amout of space imho?

set wrote on 8/23/2016, 11:45 PM

The Notification numbers works fine, but we don't know which posts the notification came from...

Perhaps you can make it bold, or for more, number of unread messages from each posts:

I also attaching the screenshot of Whatsapp Messenger I'm using, hopefully this gives an idea for better forum (Pardon those 'suprising' numbers :D - well, they are extremely talkative) :

The other 'bug' I notice, is after you're updating the post, like this one, with attached images. After 'Save Changes', the picture didn't loading automatically (only picture uploading motion icon), but reload the whole page fix the images.

Btw, this forum site is Mobile-Friendly now! Nice! I add this message from my mobile phone (Android)... :)

Perfect! It's so nice to have responsive Bugsters out on the prowl. I'm liking your profile too. Next time you're in London I'll definitely stand you a frothy pint.

Is there a search function?

VEGAS_CommunityManager wrote on 8/24/2016, 5:16 PM

Not at this point, but we will implement that in the future.

Edit: Just for clarification – We are trying to deliver that function as fast as possible.

Mathias... for being built from ground-up I really like the forum platform and am sure I'll love it more as it evolves! I've always wanted to install a CMS/Social platform on my webserver and have tried all the usual suspects (Joomla/WordPress, etc.) but realized I'd never be happy with anything but 'built-ground-up' which I have neither the knowledge, patience or money to do! But I'd be very interested if you ever Open-Sourced the code on this project.

VEGAS_CommunityManager wrote on 8/25/2016, 10:32 AM

Thanks for your feedback, Brad! I know it may sound cheesy but with comments like yours we are getting more motivated than ever. Finally we can see how our work influences others.

NickHope wrote on 8/25/2016, 10:41 AM

I echo that I like the forum, and especially like how responsive you guys are being to requests and bug reports. If this responsiveness makes it into Vegas and the other software then it has a bright future.

Tom Pauncz wrote on 8/25/2016, 2:33 PM

Jump to last post button to the right of the post topic does not appear to be working for me. It just gets me to the start of the thread.

MikeLV wrote on 8/25/2016, 2:38 PM

Another I would add would be to have the subject of the thread appear in the subject line of the email notification. I'm using google and all the email notificaitons are going into one thread "New comment in subscribed forum post" Not a big deal, but just helps to keep track of replies.
