How To Contact Magix Vegas Support

Sassylola wrote on 7/12/2024, 8:15 AM

I emailed the question below to sales@magix.net and received the following response

"This is an automated response.
Unfortunately your mail could not be delivered!
For further information on how to open a ticket with MAGIX Support, please check here:
https://www.magix.info/us/support/options/"

I click on the link and it takes me to a page that does not show any support for Vegas. Does anybody know where I can directly ask Magix my question below through email?

I currently have Vegas Pro Post 365 Annual Subscription valid until 8-17-24. To renew for another year the price is $359.88 (US).

I see that Magix is offering a 2 for 1 sale until July 28th, 2024. And Vegas Pro Post for a perpetual license - new is $299.00 (US). I was going to cancel my annual subscription before 8-17-24 and purchase the perpetual license. My question is can I purchase the Perpetual License Upgrade? Instead of a new license? Since I already have Pro Post? Thank You.

How about this one "the Support option at the top of the forum page"?

You can't upgrade from a subscription. Have you ever owned a non-subscription VEGAS version? If so you can get upgrade pricing.

I'm surprised the renewal prices is that high as there is no Post with VP 22- the renewal price should be for Suite.

Custom PC (2022) Intel i5-13600K with UHD 770 iGPU with latest driver, MSI z690 Tomahawk motherboard, 64GB Corsair DDR5 5200 ram, NVIDIA 2080 Super (8GB) with latest studio driver, 2TB Hynix P41 SSD and 2TB Samsung 980 Pro cache drive, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit

Dell XPS 15 laptop (2017) 32GB ram, NVIDIA 1050 (4GB) with latest studio driver, Intel i7-7700HQ with Intel 630 iGPU (latest available driver), dual internal SSD (1TB; 1TB), Windows 10 64 bit

@Sassylola Hi, this is an email I got, I don't know if this will affect your decision & I'm not really sure what they mean by 'You will still be able to use Vegas Effects', will you still be able to get Vegas Effects with VP22 or is it saying it will still work with V Effects that comes with VP21 Post & seeing as you have VEGAS Post 365 will you still have access to the V Effects you have now 🤷‍♂️

@Gid @Sassylola The current 2-for-1 deal at https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/sale/ also has this: "Note: Buyers of VEGAS Pro Post will receive VEGAS Pro Suite 22, in which VEGAS Effects and Image can continue to be used as usual.."

Ambiguous or not, it might be best to contact VEGAS Support (linked by jetdv above) or customer support (infoservice@magix.net ?) to possibly get clarified if VEGAS Effects and Image will work in VP Suite 22 "as usual", i.e. the same as in VPP 21.

>will you still be able to get Vegas Effects with VP22
Magix support were pretty definitive when I asked about this; they are discontinuing the Post bundle with the launch of 22. In that light, the email you got means that iif you have an existing, working copy of Vegas Image and Vegas Effects they will work with Vegas Pro 22 . What is unclear whether that means ANY existing version of the Post Bundle will keep working, or just the one that came with 21 (either way, I guess that buying the current 2 for 1 offer may be a cheapish way to get the Post bundle for 22)

@MikeS Yep, from @vkmast comment it might mean VE will be added to the Vegas Suite bundle or maybe not, & maybe it would be good for the OP to buy the perpetual of that VP21 bundle & then they will have a perpetual version of VE. 🤷‍♂️

I have Vegas Post 19, that VE version still works in VP21 (I only bought VP20 & VP21 Edit when I upgraded) so I'm sort of guessing that it will still work in VP22.

I did hear back from Magix on the upgrade.

"Thank you for your message. Since you do have VEGAS Pro 19 you could take advantage of the upgrade discount for VEGAS POST 21".

I really do not use Image or Effects. But I do use Vegas Hub. As of this posting.

With Vegas Pro Edit you get up to 20gb cloud storage, limited HD stock footage.

With Vegas Pro Suite you get up to 50gb cloud storage and HD stock footage.

With Vegas Pro Post ( What I Have Now and Being Discontinued? ) you get up to 100gb cloud storage, and 4K stock footage.

This is in the version overview and license options on Magix Vegas Pro purchase site.

"Due to ongoing cost structures, we are currently able to offer higher usage limits for subscription users than we can for perpetual users".

Since the Post bundle will be discontinued in Version 22, does that mean I will lose access to the 4K stock footage? Or the only way to keep it is to purchase a subscription to 22? Is Version 22 Suite going to include 4K stock footage?

Thanks for everybody's help.

@Sassylola The cloud storage and stock footage offerings from VEGAS Pro 21 Post will be moved to the VEGAS Pro 22 Suite level. With 22 Suite, you will have access to 4k stock footage as well as 100gb of cloud storage.

Sassylola wrote on 7/17/2024, 5:41 AM

@VEGASDerek, thank you for the answer. It would be better to purchase the Vegas Pro Suite 21 upgrade or new, and then get a free update to Pro Suite 22 that is being offered now until July 28th. If Suite 22 is going to replace Post 21 why pay more for Post? I would think most people would purchase the deal that is going on now to get the free upgrade to Version 22?

What I read at the bottom of the VP Post upgrade would lead me to believe I would be getting VP22 Post. Maybe the wording needs to be made clearer. If you are getting only VP21 Post and VP22 Suite instead of "Buy a VEGAS product today and get the new version of the same product for free!"

Do you need two extra licenses for VEGAS (and want to use Effects and Image with 21)? Then get the Post one.

If you don't need licenses and already have or don't use Post I'd get Suite when 22 comes out.

Custom PC (2022) Intel i5-13600K with UHD 770 iGPU with latest driver, MSI z690 Tomahawk motherboard, 64GB Corsair DDR5 5200 ram, NVIDIA 2080 Super (8GB) with latest studio driver, 2TB Hynix P41 SSD and 2TB Samsung 980 Pro cache drive, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit

Dell XPS 15 laptop (2017) 32GB ram, NVIDIA 1050 (4GB) with latest studio driver, Intel i7-7700HQ with Intel 630 iGPU (latest available driver), dual internal SSD (1TB; 1TB), Windows 10 64 bit

VEGAS Pro 19.651
VEGAS Pro 20.411
VEGAS Pro 21.208

@Sassylola

Hi,

If Suite 22 is going to replace Post 21 why pay more for Post?

If you don't already have Post, that is Vegas Effects and Image, or you don't buy it with the Vegas 21 Post offering (with free upgrade to 22), then you won't have Effects and Image with Vegas 22. Effects and Image do not come with Vegas 22 anything.

Again, if you don't have Vegas Post and you take the 2 for 1 offer for Edit or Suite, you will not get Post (Effects and Image) at all.

If you already have Vegas 21 Post, then there is no point in taking up the 2 for 1 offer. Wait for Vegas 22 to come out as the price will probably be lower.

What is not clear is whether or not Vegas 20 Post - Effects and Image - and earlier will continue to work under Vegas 22.

BTW, nothing is free. You are paying one way or the other.
