Oh geez I thought so I have the basic version... See I had Platinum 10 but wanted to get basic cause I can't afford Platinum 10 right now. So I gather that is why. Kind of bullocks but hey at least I can encode in other resolutions fine. I just wish I can optimize on my own. I read the help and it said I could create that isn't very nice.

Yes, making custom render presets is a Platinum feature only (it's wrong in the help file).

You could try if you could make some custom presets within Platinum 10, which could be available in the basic version 14. But I suspect them would appear in version 14 but won't work in the end because of a bug in the current versions of Movie Studio.

As above noted, no customizable render templates in (the basic) Movie Studio versions. Just to clarify that (M)VMS 14 does not have them either, (M)VMS 14 P[latinum) does (I think, in spite of all its issues).

Indeed, but already customized templates from other versions, which are stored at AppData\Roaming\Sony\Render Templates, show up in the list and can be used with succes. See here

So those already customized templates can be used in the basic Movie Studio 14 as well, as Marco wondered?

I know generaly you could use them in the basic version, I only wasn't sure about how that certain bug in the current build would limit this.
