No need to move. Just install with original Vegas7 installation file and register with your serial.

Thank you for the quick reply!
I've long since lost the original downloaded installation - o reckon it's gone to that bit-cloud way up in the sky and is now playing a harp or singing in som heavenly choir. My old trusty 15 year old Golden Retriever went to a nearby cloud some time ago. I'm sure she would retrieved it for me if she could - but no 😢.
In lieu can I just copy some Vegas folder and then insert some serial someplace?

When you officially have registered your Vegas7 copy, you still can download the original Vegas7 installation file from the support page of the Magix site.

Please see if you can download the installer for your old Vegas version in the MAGIX Download Center https://www.magix.com/int/support/my-service-center/product-downloads/

Hope you can retrieve your old version successfully.

@john_dennis thanks for confirming:

If VP-7 cannot be downloaded from the Vegas download or service center for one reason or another, you can download it from the Sony archives. Naturally a valid serial code is still needed to activate it after it's installed on another PC. SCS software was not limited to just two activations like versions from Vegas Creative Software (Magix).

Thank you all - I'll give it a try!
