How to stop Vegas changing default setup when adding files

tony-basset wrote on 6/26/2020, 6:54 AM

Since changing from Vegas 14 to 17 I found an annoying thing in 17. After I setup everything so I can see my timeline, my preview video and the files in the project (default), when I go to add another file Vegas changes the whole project appearance.

I then add the file and then have to go back the reset to default in the View menu. Is there a way to stop this Vegas 17 from constantly changing my default appearance of my project everytime I add something?

Any help is appreciated.

Never saw that, but you are able to make your own Lay-out and set that as default.

Yes I did that and it is basically same as the default saved in Profile but as soon as I select Add/Arrange Media it changes to this (below). It never did this on Vegas 14 and I have to keep hitting Alt+D to correct the view.

It also adds the files into my timeline which I may not want.

Use Power User mode and close Dashboard if you do not want the Storyboard.

Thanks Vkmast. Dashboard was the problem and now I've gone back to how it was on Vegas 14. Great this forum gives help so quickly from other users! 😃
