I need a refund! Vegas 18 is not working...

I've been using Vegas for over 10+ years now and it just keeps getting worse and worse every year. Ever since SONY sold it, its been all downhill from there. I bought 18 pro and it doesn't work with half of my video files, still, no updates to fix anything and I've waited over a month and still no fixes. This sucks because 17 doesn't play nice with 4k 60fps files and now 18 doesn't even work... How do I get my money back with a full refund for VP18?? I really hate how things just don't work now with vegas... :/

Something software based on your computer or your system's hardware configuration eg: (Video card, GPU, Drivers, etc) is always causing you this conflict with Vegas..... On the contrary, Vegas has gotten a lot better since it was sold to Magix..... Have you tried the new Vegas 18 auto update of your system drivers to see if that helps?

Also, always try the free demos before buying.

Also, the first update is currently in the testing phase. They can't crank out updates constantly because they need to be properly tested to make sure they don't end up breaking more than they fix.

You aren't telling us exactly what the problem is, is it lagging during playback, or is it crashing? Have you updated your GPU driver using the driver update utility in the help menu (just having a new driver may not be good enough, there's more than one type of driver now and VEGAS needs a certain one)? Which formats won't open?

Download this app and run it on the files that won't open (only once per type of file).

Paste the report it gives you here.

This will give us valuable info to help identify why the media isn't opening.

You can get a refund within 2 weeks after purchasing. I went through the process with Version 16 after it was released. That version was a disaster and I reverted back to version 14 and got my refund. With version 18 I downloaded the trial version before buying the upgrade. It was more stable than Version 16. I have been running Version 18 with Visual Studio debugger at times to help troubleshoot issues. Most of the crashes and freezes are due to the installer not setting up administrator privileges correctly and bugs in file I/O plugins used by Vegas which require disabling. There are also compatibility issues with ASIO drivers. I removed the ASIO drivers on one of my PCs where Version 18 is installed and also disabled MP3 audio input plugin. After that, many of those mysterious freezes went away. I want to edit 4K 10 bit 4:2:2 video and Version 14 does not allow me to do that.
