I need help with rendering - screen output issues

William-O wrote on 7/7/2022, 1:12 PM

I have rendered a lot of videos with no issues but, I'm a teacher, I'm taking video game clips and using them to create videos for class (history, using far cry and assassin's creed stuff) and my preview screen is perfect, but when rendering the video, my stuff is in the center of the screen and is not big enough. I want it to be full screen. I know how to use the crop tool but it shows as correct in preview but never when I render.

Please help.

thank you

@William-O Hi, you need to share some info of the media, project settings & render settings, have a look at this link & share as much as poss, pictures can be uploaded using the arrow button next to the smiley at the top of a new comment, too much info shared is better than too little 😉👍 https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/important-information-required-to-help-you--110457/

This first clip is what's at the bottom of the preview screen

So, when I click "make movie" the resolution is the same, so I click advanced options and change the settings I have lots of options and I have tried multiple.

In the end, this is what I end up with...

So the "timeline" example is a full screen graphic I created but it only sits in the middle. Same for the video game footage.

Is it just not possible to make it full screen because the video game footage is 1280 x 720?

On my mac on iMovie, it does it all automatically but I'm trying to learn movie maker because there are other things that are easier to do.

Thank you for your help

What exactly is the software you are asking help for? Is it VEGAS Pro, VEGAS Movie Studio,or maybe the new Movie Studio 18 or 2022 (from MAGIX)? Please confirm the name and number of your version. Thank you.

Movie Studio 17 Platinum

I apologize, my first time asking for help and assumed this was specifically for that software as search brought me here

There is a Picture in Picture track in Movie Studio, make sure your main video is not on that track.

Thank you, its not that, I know how to do that as well and for other vids.
