Imagination Studio 3 update files

Hello,

I was looking for the Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 update for my sister and I cannot seem to find this listed under the Vegas Family updates: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/updates/vegasfamily

Is Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 the same as Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 ?

The box for Imagination Studio 3 clearly says Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 so I'm wondering if I can download this Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 update and it should work?

Vegas/Movie Studio has changed its name several times over the years, to some confusion. In all cases, though, the Platinum version is the full-featured product. Initially the program was called Sony Screenblast, then later Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

In versions 10 and 11, the program was called Vegas Movie Studio HD, advertising the fact that it now supported HD as well as SD video. As far as I know, there is no Vegas Movie Studio 11 (non-HD).

Version 12 and 13 are called simply Sony Movie Studio,

FIM0,
open your sister's Vegas Movie Studio (HD) Platinum 11. Click Help (menu) > Sony on the Web > Latest Updates. It should tell you that "The latest version of the software is already installed" OR give you the relevant download page.

The Vegas Family update page does have the last update of VMS(HD)P 11 available to download as well.

edit:
I see that previously you were after an MSP 12 update. It's the same procedure regardless of the version.

Actually before ScreenBlast was VideoFactory.

I wouldn't say Platinum is "full-featured". It's still quite a bit less than Vegas Pro. However, of the "Studio" versions Platinum is the one that contains everything the "Studio" line offers.

Also note that as soon as Sony releases a new version (13, currently), they stop selling any previous version. This could be why 11 isn't being found.

The last update/build of VMSPlatinum 11 is easily found on this SCS site.
You just cannot buy that version any more from SCS.

Build 322 is the latest version of VMS Platinum HD 11.

Go to the My Account link at the top of this page and select My Software. Log in and click the Download link next to your registered software to see the version(s) available for download.

If it's your sister's software, she would have to have registered the software and log in to view the available downloads.

That makes it three (3) different ways to update mentioned here (again).
As MSmart reminded in the "Thanks" thread, "however, it would be nice for (the OPs) to post a follow-up to each of (their) questions to let us know the information provided helped (them) or not."
Not much point if some of us keep suggesting/posting solutions just to ourselves here :)

In looking at the OP's other posts (s)he is responsive with thanks so I don't think we have another tb9 here. Prolly traveling back to g'mas for Thanksgiving.

We've been known talk amongst ourselves many a time. We just need OPs to get us started.

FYI: In a situation where you are wondering if someone has seen a post, you can click on the username in the post, and it pulls up a page that shows their recent posts, but also includes a timestamp of their last visit to the forum:

Posts By User

Profile for: SomeDudesName
Real Name: (hidden)
Website: (maybe a web link here)
Last Visit: 11/24/2015 1:23:45 AM

This is not 100% accurate, as it would only catch visits when they are logged into the forum. For example, they might view the forum from another computer, and not be logged in, and that that visit would not be reflected in the "Last Visit" timestamp. Also, they could visit the forum but not see a particular post.

Note -- I have no insider info on this feature -- I'm just guessing that's how it works. But sometimes when someone fails to respond to a post, it's a quick indicator that they probably haven't been back to the website to even see it. After all, not everyone is as addicted to this forum as we are... :)

A good reminder/FYI, Tim L.
Personally, I've made a habit of clicking on the user name every time before I respond to a post exactly for the reasons you mention, being the "addict" that I am :)
My humble wish for feedback was strictly on a general level and not aimed at any one user, as you might gather from the rephrasing of a previous request.

Thanks everyone for your help. I was confused since Yes, I use VP and I have used VideoFactory 1 & 2 back when they first came out. That is what got me hooked on the software and I wanted to upgrade. My sister on the other-hand does not know much about PC's and when I looked I was confused about the HD thing listed on the website for updates.

Yes, you are correct I forgot about the built-in check for updates. I will mention that and hopefully I will not have to travel to her home to click on it for her..... :-)

Thanks again!
