In 2014, DVD Architect 5.2 stopped loading after 1 year on Windows 10

I bought VEGAS PRO 10 on February 16th 2012. In about 2014, DVD Architect 5.2 stopped loading after about 1 year on Windows 10. Every time I try to open it the Sony 'Your DVD Architect Pro Trial has Expired' box appears asking to either buy the product or insert the Serial number and submit. I insert the Serial number and submit but the box re-opens again and basically I'm in a loop to nowhere. I just want my DVD Architect 5.2 software that I payed for, that came all the way from Livonia in Michigan USA, to me in Australia, to open and operate as per normal if anyone can help me with this. Thankyou.

When Sony sold the Vegas product line, including DVD Architect Pro, to MAGIX some 6 years ago, Sony transferred customer registration data (i.e. purchases, serial numbers, etc) to MAGIX at the time. If I remember correctly, access to MAGIX's My Account used the same username and password as was used for Sony's Vegas My Account. So try logging into your MAGIX My Account and check the My Products selection to see if both your Vegas Pro 10 and DVD Architect Pro 5.2 are listed there - and double-check the serial number for DVDA.

If not, you may need to contact MAGIX Support via the Support link at the top of the forum and give as much information as you can including the serial number.

Just a timeline comment, the public release of Windows 10 was in late July 2015, so if you had it running for one year after Windows 10 release, then that would mean the DVDA problem occurred in Q3 or Q4 of 2016, coincidentally about the time of the ownership transfer from Sony to MAGIX.

Ask VEGAS Support starts here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support/interview/ (more advice here).

It's possible that the OP's software may not be on his MAGIX Account > My products. If not, try Product Registration. (Be aware that forum user accounts without posts have not been migrated.)

Thank you @vkmast for linking https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/instructions-for-the-reactivation-of-your-old-scs-forum-account--103073/ as that may be the issue - and its updated my memory back to 2016 (the year 4 BC [Before Coxxxx]). The one thing when first commenting was it wasn't clear if the OP is/was experiencing the same problem with VP10. To my mind, if there has been a problem for many years with DVDA 5.2 harking back to 2016 associated with the Sony/MAGIX transfer, then logically it should have also applied to VP10. I've not experienced an activation/SN problem with installing DVDA 6 on W10 even mid last year when having to rebuild W10 as well as everything else on my computer.

tHANKS GUYS FOR YOUR HELP. I've tried everything with everybody's suggestion, and for the last three days it feels likeI've been smashing my haed on a brick wall, trying everything, (but I'm sure I've missed something , but what!) . I've found my product, (DVD Architect 5.2), on MAGIX web site, put in the serial # and location where i bought it, all seemed fine. I downloaded their product, (DVD Architect 5.2), which I thought was odd as I already had the product, but I followed through anyway, uninstalling my product and re-installing theirs Then I launched the product again and, OH! NO!

The dreaded  'Your DVD Architect Pro Trial has Expired' box appears AGAIN! Asking me to either buy the product or insert the Serial number and submit. I insert the Serial number and submit, but the box re-opens, and AGAIN, I'm basically in a loop to nowhere. AAAAAARRGGGHHHHH!!!

I'm fine.

So I tried to REGISTER my product via the MAGIX website. Everything goes well till I'm asked for my computer ID. Unfortunately I've spent hours trying to find it, looking on what felt like a million websites, (I think I'm exaggerating), and inserting 4 different multi-digit numbers into the box, but all were incorrect : -

"Invalid computer ID

The computer ID you entered is incorrect.
Please check your entry."

Now I think I'll take 4 Valiums and rest for a bit, recharge my batteries and clear out the cob webs and start a new attempt and hope I don't end up in the abyss again.

Thanks again for everyone's help. If I missed something I'll try any new advice.

All the best.
