Installing Vegas Pro 365 on a second computer fails - error code -14.

Hi,

First of all, apologise for incorrectly submitting this post on the wrong forums previously - I got a bit confused on where to start.

Anyway, I have purchased a 1-year Vegas Pro 365 subscription, and have been using version 18 since May. However, last week I experienced a complete crash on my computer, a Blue-Screen-Of-Death, (BSOD) making the computer - and the software on it - completely unrecoverable.

I have now a new computer, where I've successfully installed the software (version 19 this time). However, upon startup and activation, it returns with an error code -14, after putting in the serial number and email address. I wonder what can be done to fix the situation? I am very sure I have put in the correct values.

Thanks for any help

I'm just guessing, but I think you have to deactivate 365 before you can install it on another machine. Log in to your account, go to My Products, find VP, More Details and deactivate on the old machine.

The 365 subscription models can be activated on only one (1) PC at a time, but can be deactivated and re-activated on another. The non-subscription versions can be activated on two (2) PCs simultaneously.

Please see the FAQ on activations here item 9. (The Deactivate the Software on this PC from the Help menu option is missing from the first build of VP 19 but this should be fixed in an early update.)
