Is it possible to order vegas or any other specials, other than throug

When I had ordered VegasPro16, I thought I was ordering it in USA. Not till the Bank was RED flagging it & not allowing the INTERNATIONAL transition to happen without some loops to go through. Ended up paying the conversion rate for it. Now when I get special offers from Magix, and if I what to buy it, I have to order it from Germany! Can't buy this stuff in USA?

@ChasMc try asking infoservice@magix.net or Live Chat which is on at the time of my writing this.

ONLINE LIVE CHAT : pre-sales and registration help is available via online live chat from 12pm-4pm U.S. Central Standard Time. Go to https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/support/ and click the chat bubble in the bottom right corner.

Interesting as here in NZ I notice my Magix emails promoting products etc have USA at the bottom. Purchases I make are in US$, although I've always assumed the download server is in Germany.

To the far right in the top bar of www.vegascreatvesoftware.com is a globe. Clicking on it allows the selection of the most appropriate country for you, and thus your currency. But I'm not sure if this option is available if following a link for a special offer received via email or via a pop-up when opening VP.

Nonetheless, it's worth noting to avoid the conversion rate issue that the OP was charged by their bank.

@EricLNZ ... +1. Being just over the ditch in AU, I've been cautious about this because the upgrade price to the next VP version some years ago was the same in Euro as it was in USD (for example Euro 199 and $199 USD), but the exchange rate to AUD was significantly worse in Euro as it was then (and still is) compared to the USD. Buying in Euro meant in AUD terms that the purchase was some 30% more than a USD purchase.

Buying in your local currency may seem like a good idea, but this is not always true. The seller has probably added their own conversion rate which may be higher than your bank's conversion rate - and your bank may add it's own conversion rate anyway - even though the purchase was made with your local currency - because the seller is 'international'. It happens that way in Australia with some financial institutions.

Yes unlike some software companies Magix doesn't force you to look at a page in your local currency. I was on US, there is no NZ option, Australia being the nearest.

I've just checked two other companies where there's no way I can get out of NZ currency and in the past I've found their conversion rate makes purchases very expensive compared to US dollars converted by Visa or Mastercard. Their pages have no options to change country and altering the internet address to try and get the US page doesn't work as they know where you are.

I've just tried a link from a recent Magix email. The Vegas Pro page doesn't have the country choice box and doesn't show which dollar currency it is. Comparing it with a known US country page I can confirm that it's US dollars. In this respect Magix are good to deal with.

I wonder what caused ChasMc's problem and where the Magix Reno US address fits in.
