You can use Vegas Video FX Timecode but it's very basic. You cannot alter the font, its size nor color.

Split your clip at the point you wish to start timing and at the point you wish it to end. Add the Timecode as an Event (clip) FX.

If you have a situation where you wish to continue the timecode across a clip join, then insert an Empty Event on a track above. Drag it out to cover your desired time period and again add Timecode Video FX as an Event FX.

How dose one get the timecode to count down? Reverse is not highlighted. Insert/remove envelope....velocity doesn't help. What am I missing? TIA Mark
