@Kaia-Fredheim as @RogerS says you need to go to Options | Preferences | Deprecated features to enable Legacy Text. That includes VEGAS Pro versions #17 and later.

Works fine, both in "Legacy Text" and "Titles & Text" - in my case, anyway.

Yes and no. Yes when using the keypad on my desktop's keyboard; no when using the numeric top row of my laptop's keyboard which doesn't have a keypad, or even the numeric top row of the desktop's keyboard. For me, it has always been thus for the best part of 20 years with quite a few desktops and laptops over those years. And its just not Vegas Pro - it's been a wide range of programs that I've experienced this with.

I should add that I am using Alt+xxx - 'x' being three numerals. For example, Alt+130 should be a French 'e' with an accent aigu (the e thus pronounced as 'ay').
