I never update the software in the middle of a project..... never.....

You can reinstall your original download of VP18 and go from there....

The previous updates to 18 are here under news, so just redownload and reinstall. 17 won't work with a project created in 18.

What GPU are you using?

Stuart-Keeble wrote on 5/18/2021, 4:38 PM

Thanks for the response, I have downloaded the file and reinstalled 4 times with the same result. I remade the project in 17 to finish it successfully, but still no working 18. I'm using a Quatro 620 with 2 Benq 28" 4K monitors

Stuart-Keeble wrote on 5/18/2021, 5:29 PM

So trying to install a previous version is impossible as the links on the news page don't work and if I try and install from my original file it downloads the latest version with the same results.......

Did you try a program reset? It can help solve hard to diagnose issues. Hold control + shift and click to start the program. Let go when it prompts you to clear the cache.

Re: downloads, your original link is just a downloader, right? Yes, that won't work.

Please try this link for 482. I just started and cancelled the download so it appears to be fine.

I do wish Magix let users download any build from their accounts.

FWIW, the Quadro 620 appears to be a 2GB card which is below minimum specs for VP 18 (4GB+ required). https://www.nvidia.com/content/dam/en-zz/Solutions/design-visualization/quadro-product-literature/quadro-pascal-p620-data-sheet-593981-us-nv-r3-web.pdf

Because of unusable build 527 I had to revert back build 434. But now I would like to avoid the message about new version VP during the start of application. Is it possible?

Uncheck in the properties / general "Don't miss an update with the newsfeed".

vkmast wrote on 5/19/2021, 5:01 AM

In the English version, try Options | Preferences | General, uncheck "Use Newsfeed to stay informed about Vegas product updates."

josifek wrote on 5/19/2021, 5:33 AM

It doesn't help. See:

I have to agree - unchecking 'Use Newsfeed ... ' doesn't get rid of the update pop up. I've gone through Start Up and Services via the Task Manager and disabled anything MAGIX, but the update nag pop up still appears - it won't go away. It must have the same survival DNA as cockroaches.

See if this thread is of any help in this case. Note the last comment.

There's also this Support article.

josifek wrote on 5/19/2021, 6:51 AM

No, there are no solutions of today cheeky note. It seems to be wired in the main VP 18 program.

Stuart-Keeble wrote on 5/19/2021, 8:47 AM

RogerS, I can't make that link work but thanks anyway. As for my video card it was working fine but what would you recommend, is the  Radeon Pro WX 3200 up to it?

RogerS wrote on 5/19/2021, 10:03 AM

For 482 download it does work. If you're in Chrome, try a different browser it blocks some download links.

That card has 4GB of ram which is an improvement. It also says it supports the Enterprise driver which is good.

Official requirements for Vegas are here. I have not recent experience with AMD cards so you might search the forum for the direct experiences of others.

Stuart-Keeble wrote on 5/19/2021, 6:03 PM

Thanks RogerS you were right I was using Chrome and it did block the download, up and running fine even with the 2gb Quatro!
