Little black bar when using picture and picture

CringeBR wrote on 1/27/2022, 9:43 AM

I'm having a problem that's leaving me with an immeasurable hatred of the picture in picture. For some reason, when I use it in an image, it leaves a little black bar that is next to the object I'm trying to use the picture and picture. It seems like such a simple problem but it's really getting on my nerves, does anyone know how to solve it?? Thanks.

@CringeBR

Some of us aren't seeing the same problem.

Disclaimer:

I'm still trying to figure out why we needed a Picture in Picture fX.

@CringeBR Nope, sorry i can't reproduce this, I tried over a few images & video, i'm guessing that's a Vignette on the background layer below?

Can you post a full screen image & mention all fx's used?

Tried some more, different aspect ratios, png's, jpg's MP4's, still no black lines

@CringeBR Is this black bar on all & any image Vegas Picture in Picture is added to?

Musicvid wrote on 1/27/2022, 4:01 PM

Looks like its on the original.

Former user wrote on 1/27/2022, 4:03 PM

@Musicvid Agreed i was thinking that, it's why i asked if it was on all & any 👍

Musicvid wrote on 1/27/2022, 4:34 PM

So we were both thinking the same thing? Good heavens.

@CringeBR Just add a bezier mask to the fx chain with the same location/height as your pip fx location/scale. Only seems to be an issue with the latest-series amd gpus.

It happens only by pic with alpha channel (in PC with AMD-card as many confirmed).

@Yelandkeil If i put 4 quarters of an 1920x1080 png on a 3840x2160 project i get those lines, but if i change the project to 1920x1080 they go away, I know there's no feather on these images & the white is pixel perfect, the lines on mine come from Vegas stretching the images to fit the bigger sized project,

Is the png image on yours the same size as the project?

Yelandkeil wrote on 1/28/2022, 1:30 PM

The generated Text has the same size as project.

I mentioned stills with a-channel, not really which format.

But as your Gcard is nVidia, it could be problem from hardware or its driver.

@Yelandkeil 👍 I used to work many with 1920, I found out this with the black lines when i switched to 3840 but was using the old 1920 png's i have, so now i've learnt i use 3840 png's instead,

The black line in my pics i'm pretty sure is Vegas stretching the image,

If i put one of the 1920 png's in gimp, & zoom in the pixels are perfect on the centre guide lines

If i change the image size to 3840 (No Halo) the 1920 pixels get stretched, I think this is what Vegas is doing,

But if i change the image size to 3840 using the (None) Interpolation it doesn't stretch the pixels,

I've tried changing all the settings in the Project settings as it does mention Interpolation in the Deinterlace method, none remove the black lines.

Yelandkeil wrote on 1/28/2022, 2:59 PM

@Former user

One fundamental thing could be misunderstood by you!

That Deinterlace Method does only change the behavior of interlaced video (though there were interlaced jpgs in early period of digitalizing).

Hence, the PnP filter lacks whether on hardware and/or its driver, but surely not on event pan/crop/resize.

Here are 1-with GPU-acc, 2-without, both in fullHD:

PS: I doubt that thin line on pic border exists in any stills, only it's too tiny/thin that we overlooked. I mean with GPU-acc.
