The serial number is easy to locate, but it's not the same as your product key, which was sent to you when you purchased the product. You can see the serial number by clicking on the word PowerDirector, right above the Preview window.

If you have registered your product(s) and created a logon, you can recover the activation codes by going to the Magix home page and clicking on My Account. But since you say you did not register your product, I'm not sure how to tell you to proceed.

What do you mean "cannot locate my product serial number within the program or in any of the emails" ?

So how did you install it? if you bought it at a legit site than you have received a proper S/N.

I purchased directly from Microsoft store and downloaded. That was 2 months ago and now I would like to upgrade but when I do through Magix, which is the homepage listed under Help/Movie Studio Home Page. The upgrade is asking for serial number which I cannot locate anywhere within the program. I was assuming it would be listed under the Help dropdown tap.

And what you see at "About" ?

As @FayFen says. Within the program: Help > About... > General M. (PowerDirector is another NLE.)

And in case one needs to "upgrade": On vegascreativesoftware.com product pages when you click "Upgrade", "Information regarding the upgrade" comes up. When you click it, you'll see "You can upgrade at a reduced price with a previous version or other authorized product. Please have your login details or serial number ready."

What specifically are you trying to upgrade to?

For the most part, Microsoft Store versions of the applications do not have the same sales mechanisms allowing for upgrades as the traditional version of the application.

@VEGASDerek thanks, good to know this about Microsoft Store versions.
