Lost keyframes in the new build

When upgrading Movie Studio HD Platinum Production Suite to the newest Build 293, my old projects (3D) are somehow changed. Several keyframes (in e.g. in Stereoscopic 3D Adjust Event FX or in Video Media Generator (text)) are missing or are moved. Since each 3D clip was affected, I was forced to uninstall/reinstall Movie Studio (build 220). Now everything is fine again. However, I think that it's not the brighest idea to stick to so old build.

Do any of you have similar problems (when using keyframes in Stereoscopic 3D adjust event FX or Title video media generator)?

Hi Crunchy,

I have the feeling that a lot of people have been running across this problem. There were even reports of keyframes going missing/not surviving a save/close/reopen back in September with some older builds: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/Forums/ShowMessage.asp?Forum=12&MessageID=781010. I am getting frustrated because I just got Movie Studio 11 two months ago (I started with build 283) and was wondering for the longest time why my manipulations of the text over a timeline (moving it from one side of the screen to the other and scaling it down) were getting reset every time that I closed and reopenned. It wasn't until today that I caught on that the root problem is that the keyframes disappear, thus wiping out the "animation" of the text that I applied manually (which is getting repetetive and annoying now).

Several other threads I've read (and it seems to have affected Vegas Pro too) suggested using the legacy text but that method is *unacceptable* for me because it does not have the "clock" animation buttons by the different aspects of the text for me to animate it over time (unless I'm missing some other way to do it - anyone?). This to me is an essential feature. The build I already had (283) is the one that, ironically, says, "Fixed various bugs in the Titles & Text plug-in involving keyframes" (see release notes). So the build that supposedly fixed problems with keyframes is the one I'm having problem with keyframes on! I just upgraded to the latest February 2012 build 293, even though the release notes say nothing further about keyframs for that build, and the problem still persists. How do you submit a bug report? I think the more people who report this the better chance it has of being fixed.

Also I think I read in one thread that the "Sony Titles & Text" was a New Blue plugin of some sort. Does anyone know a way to get an updated or older version of the plugin that works?

Well according to this video you can still animate text with a timeline in the Legacy Text mode: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=guerillabill#p/u/0/kMhAb7UcKUU. I did not know that. I suppose I can use that in the mean time until this annoying problem is fixed. Thanks to Richard Jones for pointing this video out in the "Issues with Sony Titles & Text" thread.

Still it does not solve my problem with stereoscopic keys. Just hope that they'll correct the bug as soon as possible.
Still I have no idea how to report a bug?!?

Am also having the exact ame problem. I have build 322 installed.

After animating text scaling using the animation with "clock" method and then saving, all keyframes are gone the next time I open Vegas Studio.

I started a ticket with support. The response was very fast! Unfortunately support was unable to solve the problem. They first suggested "saving a copy of my project to my desktop". That, of course, had no effect. The keyframes were all missing. The next suggestion was "deinstall vegas, create a new windows user account, log-in using the new account, and then reinstall vegas." Also did not help.

I'm afraid I'll have to consider using another NLE editor. I need to have the ability to animate things using keyframes.

visionmedia,
this bug has been reported many times and the response has always been the same since build 247.
This is a known issue to be resolved in a future update of the application. Thank you for reporting this issue.
This was discussed also in the recent thread
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=12&MessageID=810748
Like crunchy says there, no reason to be very optimistic and the support really should have known better in their response to visionmedia.
I get around this rendering (loop region) to new track when I'm done.
My VPro b 683 seems to keep keyframes in Titles&Text though, so they should be able to fix this in Studio too.
