Which version of VMS is it and Basic or Platinum?

Go to https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/ and log in to your Account, then to "My products". Your serial number should be there. If your version is 14 or later, click "Show more details" under your serial number and Deactivate on the device that "fried".

I'm having a similar problem but, when I go to the link there isn't any "My Products" tab how would I fix this?

If you have earlier used the product than use the email address to log-in when you first activated the program
