Just saw that myself. Will be interesting to see if Magix continues products from both lines or drop one. I own versions from Sony and Magix. Magic has best audio editor in their video editor, but Sony has the best Disc creator. If Magix can meld the best features of both into one product, would be a killer video editor.

Never really got on with Magix marketing, by contrast Sony Movie Studio never really bragged about their product.
It will indeed be interesting.

I think Sony professional has gone the Subscription-model with Catalyst, although I never really understood what was being offered.

Let's hope it's good for Consumers. I note that this Website has nothing under "Press Releases" - odd that....maybe waiting for Magix to announce it.

--------

"These products from Sony Creative Software are the perfect addition to our portfolio. We have already strengthened our presence in the United States in order to propel development and sales. This autumn, we plan to release new versions of the video-editing programs Vegas Pro and Movie Studio, which are heavily oriented toward the customer requirements of today," says MAGIX CEO Klaus Schmidt."
