Making a DVD

I simply want to save my project (a mix of photos and music) onto a dvd that will play in my UK dvd player. Having spent hours trying it seems impossible. If anyone could tell me a setting to choose that will record the audio as well as the visual and actually play in my dvd player I would be very grateful. Thank you (hopefully)...

It's hard to say what your'e doing wrong without know what steps, exactly, you're taking to do what you're doing.

Which version of the program are you using? Are you using the Platinum version?

Are you porting your video to DVD Architect Studio to disc authoring?

What options are you selecting and what results are you getting?

Have a look at online Help (F1) "Burning a DVD from the timeline".
As Cornico says, the Make Movie wizard may be your friend here.
Pick PAL and the right aspect ratio.
Get a few rewritable DVD blanks to avoid coasters at this stage.
