No problem to do that with that program, look

Something must be wrong with your installation or hardware.
If you want to get possible solutions you have to state here your buildnumber of Vegas Movie Studio 17 and your used hardware.

Resolved.
Now the NVIDIA driver is 21.21.13.7684 dated 06/02/2017 (the previous one 23.21.13.8857 strange).

But now everything works.

Many thanks for your help (I had to think about updating the drivers myself!)
