Missing Black Friday/Weeks upgrade price in International store!

Mykee wrote on 11/24/2023, 3:00 AM

I tried to upgrade to Vegas Pro as part of the Black weeks promotion (I went from Vegas program!), but when I pay, it tells me that I can't pay the price in the EU:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/index.php?id=14227&L=52&_oB=vegas-pro&phash=uxXE2bM177zEjUGn

I go to the international page and there is no Black Friday/Weeks discount for the upgrade. There is no discount for the upgrade on the Black Friday page either:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/int/sale/

So they can only benefit from the upgrade discount in the US, not in the EU or internationally?

299 Euro != 249 dollar

None of the webpages show a discount for upgrades.

It's odd they would show you a US-specific price if you are registered in Europe. I'd write to sales@magix.net and share a screenshot of the offer you would like to use.

UK England.

I had a look the other day, New purchases get the lower upgrade price, but there's no discount for Upgrades 😒

I don't know, I always have the US promotions in the program and I wanted to upgrade at those prices. I wrote to magix.

Though I could be wrong, I seem to recall that its been mentioned on the forum a few times in the past that due to EU law, purchases made by EU residents must purchase via EU links to ensure that TVA (VAT/GST) is applied to the purchase. Given that MAGIX is an EU company (based in Germany), I imagine that MAGIX would be obliged to follow EU laws.

I suspect that if you have an email address with an EU extension (e.g. fr, it, ge, ch and so on), that you would be limited to purchasing via MAGIX's EU webpage. If you have one available, perhaps try a purchase on MAGIX's US website via a VPN to see if that bypasses the EU issue - NB: I don't about the legaility of doing that so caveat emptor.

@Mykee I'm not sure if there's a place where you can register your account country, but at the top of the Magix site there's an option for country.

RogerS wrote on 11/24/2023, 4:29 AM

I'd assume the taxation follows the registered home address vs the URL or email address. If your Magix Service Center account doesn't have your address under user data try adding it and maybe you will get EU specific deals.

Just had a look at My Account, @Mykee maybe check yours as @RogerS says.

My address is in Hungary, which is not in the list, leaving the international page. My email address is gmail, so I'm still not ahead

Mykee wrote on 11/24/2023, 4:39 AM

My address is perfect, in Hungary under registration. Does Magix not recognize Hungary from Germany and classify it as USA? 😁😁

@Mykee Maybe try selecting Austria, Germany or Switzerland, whether you'll get the correct upgrade offers I don't know

A special Black Weeks Upgrade Deal email shows this in Euros (I'm in an EU country):

I received this message because "you subscribed to receive to receive promotional information from MAGIX at the email address [my email address with MAGIX]") I subscribed ages ago here https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/subscribe-to-newsletter/

These special promotions don't seem to be available at the products website. (Please see also here and the next comment there.)

Unfortunately, this didn't work either, because I just checked, I was subscribed to the newsletter, and I didn't receive such a newsletter (I also checked spam, yes). There is a bug in Magix's marketing system.

My last letter was sent on 16 October as Vegas Pro 21 from news@letter.magix.com and offered an upgrade with the NewBlue package. Nothing since then.

@Mykee your screengrab seems different than what I get from the link I mentioned. Have you tried it: https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/subscribe-to-newsletter/

Mykee wrote on 11/24/2023, 5:13 AM

Since my mail address is registered, it did not accept re-registration. And after logging in, I can only save the same settings I just entered. And if I don't log in and register to a completely different email address, I don't get the upgrade offer. Joke.

vkmast wrote on 11/24/2023, 5:17 AM

@Mykee so your version does not give you this option though it mentions it. "You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. To do so just click the link at the end of the newsletter. To receive MAGIX emails safely, add info@letter.magix.net to your email address book." If not (and anyway), try asking by emailing shop@magix.net

Mykee wrote on 11/24/2023, 5:23 AM

But, there was a link at the bottom of the last Vegas newsletter. I didn't subscribe, I didn't get the promotion. I'll send you a private message to work out the kinks.

Mykee wrote on 11/24/2023, 6:41 AM

I changed countries, unsubscribed, subscribed, nothing helped. I'm still waiting for a reply from Magix, and I'm curious as to how they see me as an American and not an EU member.

Update1: Ok, I managed to find the EU campaign page, just had to change the link. So the purchase was successful, thanks for all the help!
