Missing opening 'Open Project' dialog box

Jack S wrote on 12/21/2017, 10:18 AM

For some reason, Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 14 now opens straight into the timeline. Previously, a dialog box appeared after the program launched which gave me the opportunity to load one of a number of previously saved projects. This doesn't appear now. It's not such a big deal but I wondered if anyone else has experienced this change. I'm sure that I've not changed any Preferences (in fact, I can't find anywhere in there where I could affect this behavior). I'm still on Build 105 as this is stable on my machine so I'm puzzled with this change of behavior. Possibly the result of a recent Microsoft update?

Go to Help and click on Welcom.....

You see this and check the box again, you probably unchecked it.

Preferences > Internal tab (hidden) has "Show Welcome Screen on Startup". Default = True. Press Shift+Preferences to see Internal tab (and current Value). And Jack S, have you tried b.148? I did not jump on the MSP14 train until b.122. The previous builds had too many bugs for me. Luckily Cornico kept us posted on them.

😊 I had to do thoroughly testing. 😊
Too much Dutch users are using that program on our advice not directly to use the Pro Version. Almost all that can be done with Pro is also possible with Movie Studio Platinum and than it is necessary also to give advice when there are problems.💪

Thanks Cornico and Vkmast. Something as simple as that and I didn't figure it out. I try to sort things out myself usually but this one got me beat. It's a relief to know that someone on this forum will usually come to the rescue when all else fails. Thanks again guys.

Vkmast, no I haven't tried b148. I've downloaded it but have been reluctant to update as b105 is very stable on my machine and I can cope with its little quirks. I've heard recently that the Windows 10 CU can cause problems with b148 so I'll probably hold off a little longer.

What problems Jack? I haven't encountered any with build 148 and Win 10 CU.

Jack S wrote on 12/23/2017, 9:32 AM

Eric, I just read somewhere that there were compatibility issues with b148 after the CU update had been applied. After what you have said I'll now go ahead and update to b148. Thanks for your input.
