Movie Studio 12 - Can't Make a Movie

Lou Sander wrote on 5/21/2016, 1:07 PM
I got this program long ago and have very seldom used it, always under Windows 7. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and am now hoping to edit a video.

I can load an MP4 video file and make edits, but when I try to Make a Movie, the Render button is inactive.

I am totally in the dark about this. I think I'm doing everything right, but maybe not. I'm thinking that maybe I have some sort of crippled version of the software, though I have a Serial Number and Machine ID. I have upgraded my computer, so maybe the Machine ID is for a different machine.

HELP!

Hi Lou,

If you have checked some of the filter options, such as 'Show Favorites Only', or 'Match project video frame rates', etc., the 'Render' button will normally be grayed out until you actually select a template. Could this be what is going on?
