Movie Studio 14 Platinum Crashing (Not Responding) when Building Peaks

I need help.

Been scouring the internet and CAN NOT find an answer to this problem:

-Captured gameplay with an El Gato capture card
- Attempted to open the MP4 file in MS14
-MS14 "builds peaks" to about 7%, freezes and says "Not Responding" at the top and I cannot click or do anything but close the program. Jacks my CPU usage to 99-100%.

This is seriously interfering with my upload schedule. I paid money for a product that is no longer working. It was working fine for months and now I can't place a new video in the program without it crashing. I updated thinking it was a bug that got patched.

Build is currently 148 (was 122 when the issue was discovered), operating system is Windows 10.

If it was working OK before, try resetting.

Edit: That sounded more antagonistic than I wanted it to, and I'm sorry. I am extremely frustrated with this issue and the lack of answers or help has amplified my stress level. I have reset it, deleted, re-downloaded and updated it. No change

You never mentioned in your initial post(s) what you had tried. As an esteemed contributor to the forums sometimes points out, most of us do not have a crystal ball here. And you'd be surprised to know how many times resetting has helped in problems, not to mention the times when those who tried to no avail forgot to clean cache. Sorry I could not help. Maybe this thread and the link in the last comment there can.

Have u tried to delete the partially rendered audio peaks files? It happens once to me and by doing so when it started regenerating them it was ok.
