Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 AVI no sound

Hi
I am using Action video recorder software to record games etc, when I put these recordings in the timeline there is no sound showing, now if I record in MP4 format I get sound but no video.
I have been using a program called AVS & still have this installed now this works fine all video & sound present.
I wanted to use Sony Vegas as it comes recommended & looks more streamlined & sophisticated so I put it on my Christmas list & ended up with 11 not 12 but hey it must be a good place to start!
This problem however has got me pulling my my hair out I have looked on the internet & found some so called solutions including online including a way to convert the files (sound dub I think) & various links to codecs all of which I am dubious about downloading.
I know this is an old subject but & probably been discussed to death but can anyone help please.
Edit:-
Just downloaded & installed Vegas 13 trial no sound here either!!!!

Post complete file properties using MediaInfo from Sourceforge.
DON'T install any codec "packs" on your computer!

MediaInfo. Post properties you see in View > Text or Tree.

All of you with similar problems might read musicvid10's tutorial here. Some basic facts there to help you avoid "confusion and misunderstanding".

Also this from the SCS Knowledgebase document #706 (updated 08/11/2014):
"If there are licensing issues with a certain format of video or audio stream, then we are not able to support that format. It is also possible that the format of one of the streams is something the software can support, but the codec was not included in the original software installation. If you install a third party codec that is able to process the file, you will likely be able to open and edit the media on the Vegas timeline."

Hi again.
After some trial & error I have figured out what the problem was!
There is a check box in the Action settings that says "Allow multi-channel audio recording" I had this box checked when I un-checked it & tried again Sony Vegas will accept the audio from the recorded AVI file. I have taken a screen shot for anyone who is interested & hosted it on my photobucket account.

Simples when you know how.
