Why in all of a sudden Movie Stuido HD KEEPS ASKING FOR SERIAL NUMBER?
I HAVE ENTER SERIAL NUMBER EACH TIME AND IT KEEPS CLOSING AND REOPENING AND KEEPS ASKING FOR SERIAL NUMBER!

I HAVE UNINSTALL IT AND REINSTALL IT AS ADMIN AND NO CHANGE!

VERY, VERY ANNOYING.

i have attach the product screenshot from my account and the pop I get when opening Vegas. I enter the serial number and it will say vegas has to restart to update and instead of opening vegas pro it keeps going to this screen. I tried installing from the disc and from downloading the .exe file from my account but it all keeps asking to enter the serial number.

I will not BUY a new version as this version i have used since 2010 and there were no issue til today!

***Mind you I am copying and pasting what i posted at magix form room and was told to come here as they were unhelpful.***

That screenshot is a Vegas Movie Studio screenshot and not Vegas Pro, you are trying to open (as you write here).

@J-V4329 this may apply in your case: "Older versions of Vegas than 14.0 are licensed under a system (as previously used by Sony) which permits use on multiple computers by one user; after an unspecified number of installations on different or updated PCs you may need to contact support to reset your "installation count"

"Click on the SUPPORT button in the forum header, then click on "Vegas Movie Studio", scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on 'Contact Support'."

Btw, of course you know that if you had a trial version (with a trial serial number) it was valid for 30 days only.

As Online Live Chat seems to be available at the moment, try https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/support/ and see if the "Let's Chat" button appears at the lower right corner.

RESOLUTION:

open the Registry Editor. To do this on Windows, press the Windows key and R together on your keyboard. In the window that appears, type REGEDIT and press Enter. If prompted, allow the program to make changes to your computer.

In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following directory:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Sony Creative Software > [Program Name] > [Version Number] > License

Right-click the License folder ONLY and select Delete. If prompted, confirm you wish to delete the folder.

Once the folder has been deleted, close the Registry Editor.

@J-V4329 thanks for coming back and confirming you now have a solution.

(Btw, a flashback here, @j-v)

Cornico, more than 6 years ago, is not the same as j-v, but they do look very similar. 😉😉😉 Thanks!
