Movie Studio Platinum 13 - Won't Save Renders

orchiddoug wrote on 11/22/2016, 2:52 PM

So I haven't used the software for a little while, and I've already tried downloading and updating to the latest download after this issue started, and it is still happening.

Every time I render out this file, I see it going into the folder where I'm rendering to, but as soon as it's done rendering, the file gets deleted and disappears!  Very strange!  It's not even in the recycle bin.  Nope... nowhere to be found. The only thing left is the .tmp file associated with it, that is very small.

Any ideas what is going on, and how to fix it?  I have a HUGE PROJECT to work on with many videos to process, and now this is happening!  Arrrgh.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Update:  Just tried saving to my Desktop instead of my 2nd hard drive under a DROPBOX folder, and it saved it.  Maybe it has to do with the fact that it's under a Dropbox?  Too many subfolders?  I would like to know what the issue may be, so I can avoid the frustration in the near future doing all these videos in these projects!  :)

OK.... I figure out part of it.  The .tmp file that I spoke of... *IS* the render.  For some reason, the program isn't taking the .tmp off the end of the file when saving it.  But it worked when I saved it elsewhere......  so I would still like to know WHY this is happening when trying to render straight into my Dropbox folder (under a bunch of subfolders).   Anyone know why?

What's your exact workflow? You should have no trouble if you "Make Movie > Save it to (a folder on) my hard drive".

Do you see this window after rendering?

Yep!  I do all of that... and I even see the file appear in the File Explorer window in the subfolder, but as soon as I see that window pop up that it's completed... the file itself is POOF... GONE!  It happened 4 times when trying to render it into a subfolder on my Hard Drive that is a Dropbox folder.  When I rendered it to my desktop, it did not disappear.  I think it may be some sort of Dropbox conflict.

Does it happen in other cloud-oriented drives too?
