Movie Studio platinum 17 crashes when playing .mpg video files

Joseph-Grasso wrote on 12/22/2020, 9:33 AM

When I try to edit .mpg video files that were taken with a Sony SR8 camcorder, Movie Studio Platinum 17 crashes upon playback. I receive an error "Movie Studio Platinum has stopped working". I've tried cleaning the cache but to no avail. Is there any remedy for this problem?

I have submitted the MediaInfo text on the video file(s) that cause my Movie Studio crash on playback. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Thank you for the exact info.
I have also those kind of files and while the used audio codec for that type is not supported anymore you have to follow the advice of  @VEGASDerek listed by @vkmast in his comment'
I will show you in a short video the difference between the original file and the file transcoded with Handbrake for only the used audio codec (AC3 to AAC)
