mp4 Video Imported to Vegas Issue

By request, I am re posting this in this forum::

Hi, I am new to Vegas and learning the ropes, so please forgive my noobness.

When I import an mp4 video into vegas, it becomes pixelated/artifacted/buggy (unsure the correct term). It remains that way after making the video. Original video is fine, but as soon as I put it in Vegas this happens in the same spots in the video. It's often where there is movement.

Here's a video showing what I mean:

I have tried to disable resample and change bit rate, but those seem to only really affect the video after it's finished, whereas this happens the moment I put it on the timeline.

Ever had this issue? Any thoughts? What settings info can I provide for proper troubleshooting?

A sincere thank you for any help!

As I said elsewhere, I for one did have some pixelation issues, which mostly went away after upgrading. Another poster advised you to update your video card driver. I f that does not help, I'd recommend you test Movie Studio Platinum 12 build 896 at least anyway. Versions 12 and 13 have many advantages over the earlier versions, esp. the 64-bit support.
You'll find the trials here. Both can still be found at reduced prices online.

I've had the same issue. It's a VMSP 10 bug. To test it I opened the same file in Windows Movie Maker and the pixelation was gone. I don't know of a solution.

Parked, where is the original file (not the YouTube one), so we can test with v 12 or v 13?
I see the OP and you are with VMSP 10, which definitely had issues.

Hello all ... I am having the exact same problem as JTMORRIS. For years, I have been bringing individual video clips into Movie Studio Platinum 10.0 and rendering them (into one file) with no problem. Over the last year, however, more-and-more clips are pixelating when I add them in my timeline (even in BEST quality) and then get rendered with the same pixelation. When I view the sources file in VLC or Windows Media Player, they do not have this problem. Given the replies above, it sounds like I should upgrade my MSP 10. I am a VERY basic user (i.e. I bring in individual clips, add minimum effects, and then render one file), so what do you recommend that I upgrade to? BTW ... I have NO problems with my DVD Architect 5.01, so I would prefer to not change that, if possible. Thanks for your time and advice.

Nut,
you should still be able to find Movie Studio Platinum 12 heavily discounted online, if you shop around.
DVD A Studio is included, the latest version/build is 5.0 b.186.
