Multicam preview screen

Hi.  I'm thinking of buying Movie Studio to create a multicam video. Well actually, I'll be switching between just two cameras so I guess that's regarded as multicam. Am I right in thinking that the basic Movie Studio 14 doesn't do multicam and I'd need the Platinum version?

From the videos I watched of Movie Studio and Vegas Pro, while it's easy enough to see all cameras at once in a window and switch between them to change cameras on the timeline, there doesn't seem to be a separate preview screen showing the whole video and the cameras changing as I click on them, to see how it flows. It seems I have to make the cuts and then watch the video back afterwards to see how it looks and make edits as needed.

That's not a dealbreaker, but is there a way to show a preview screen to show how it looks on the fly in real time as you click on each camera? I noticed for instance that magix and final cut pro have one screen showing multi cameras and another adjacent screen simultaneously showing a preview of the video with the cameras switching. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what that means though. I need to see all my cameras on screen so I can obviously see which camera I want to switch to, plus a simultaneous preview screen of how it looks as I switch. Can I do that?

There is an option to preview full screen to an external monitor, which can be your second computer monitor or an external device.

See https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-movie-studio-update-build-127-build-148--108240/ "New Features: --- Multicam Audio Sync makes synchronizing the different footage from a multicamera shoot easy and automatic. [Platinum only]".

Download and install the free 30-day trial version to test for yourself.

Oops, I assumed it was the same as Pro.

Appreciate all the replies guys, many thanks. and I'll download the trial version to see how I get on. david-tu, hooking up a second monitor wouldn't be something I'd want to do, it would be better to have all visuals on my laptop screen. Perhaps this feature is something that could be added in an update. Seems odd to me that something like this isn't included like in competitive software.

Well apparently it is in Pro, one of the reasons to upgrade. But yeah, you would need a second monitor.
