Try to open Movie Studio.I've downloaded it several hours ago. Of course, I won't update the SW (and will stay with build 220) as soon as I don't get conformation that all the keyframes are saved with the project.
I just downloaded 295 and tried it. Not a very thorough test, but it opened my project and I can now add text with shadows to the timeline. 293 crashed instantly when I did that. I never had issues with shadows on older version as some people have, so maybe it won't work for everyone - but I am encouraged.
I had a chance to test it a little and the first thing I tried was Shadows it seems to work now I put 4 different text events and applied shadows and no crashes.
The shadow text works fine for me in this one. I have another NLE and no fixes for over a year. You've got to love Sony for staying on top of their programs and not just issuing a new version with all the bugs fixed. I do and I plan on staying with VMS until I get PRO which I may not need given the power of VMS.
Notable fixes/changes in version 11.0 (Build 295)

What really was fixed between builds 293 and 295? Some fault we need not know?
In the thread below http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=12&MessageID=795982
there was a post quoting the Sony tech response about disappearing keyframes "There is a known issue listed in the database where the key frames move beyond the duration of the event. This is listed to be resolved in a future update of the application. "
Has anybody tested if this was fixed in b295?
Yes, a good question! Has anybody tried if keyframes are saved after closing and opening the project? I am still on version 220 just because of the keyframes problems. I need keyframes remembered in text and stereoscopic settings.
With some older builds I noticed problems with "Video Media Generators: Sony Titles & Text" (keyframes on Location) and with "Video Event FX: Stereoscopic 3D Adjust" (keyframes on Horizontal Offset). Could you test it?
Funny that nobody tried it yet on keyframes or had tried but did not report?
Anyway, I tried build 295 and keyframes are still lost (I mean it did not import keyframes properly for earlier projects). Probably it does not save them on "295" projects as well, but I did not test it. I'm back to build 220. :-)
I would again ask for help anybody who knows how to contact Sony to let them know that it does not work. This bug is, in my humble opinion, one of major bugs.
I can check and eventually send a ticket to Sony.
But, let me know what exactly is the problem.
Because keyframes can be put everywhere: effects, track motion, event pan/crop etc.
The same keyframes as mentioned two posts above: "Video Media Generators: Sony Titles & Text" (keyframes on Location) and with "Video Event FX: Stereoscopic 3D Adjust". Some of the keyframes are missing. It seems that during the import of project made on older builds (e.g. 220), some higher versions are loosing some of the keyframes. The problem is that in majority of projects I need keyframes.
Would be nice if the Release Notes had been updated between 293 and 295. Is it possible that just the installer was updated to get rid of the problem old DLL, but the code base remains the same?
I think SCS is overwhelmed at the moment. If you look at the Pro forum, they're not too happy there either. I still have an outstanding issue with DVD Architect Studio.
Not sure what the deal is with them, but I definitely think they've got a lot of issues they're working on. Stability of Vegas, Pro and Movie Studio has suffered.
