Probably not, because there has been no info of such update being available. No release notes so far either.
Thanks for letting us know.

Try to open Movie Studio.I've downloaded it several hours ago. Of course, I won't update the SW (and will stay with build 220) as soon as I don't get conformation that all the keyframes are saved with the project.

I just downloaded 295 and tried it. Not a very thorough test, but it opened my project and I can now add text with shadows to the timeline. 293 crashed instantly when I did that. I never had issues with shadows on older version as some people have, so maybe it won't work for everyone - but I am encouraged.
Editguy43 wrote on 2/13/2012, 9:36 PM
I had a chance to test it a little and the first thing I tried was Shadows it seems to work now I put 4 different text events and applied shadows and no crashes.

The shadow text works fine for me in this one. I have another NLE and no fixes for over a year. You've got to love Sony for staying on top of their programs and not just issuing a new version with all the bugs fixed. I do and I plan on staying with VMS until I get PRO which I may not need given the power of VMS.

After the last nightmare with 293, I'm sticking with 256 as you can probably guess =)

In build 295 release notes (just published)

Notable fixes/changes in version 11.0 (Build 295)
Updated Sony AVC format render template customization to support AVCHD 2.0.
Added a Blu-ray AVC setting to the Video format drop-down list in the Customize Settings dialog, allowing you to customize Sony AVC render templates for Blu-ray Disc.
The Tools > Burn Disc > Blu-ray Disc with Menus command is unavailable when working with 5.1 surround projects.
Fixed an issue that caused 5.1 surround AVCHD rendering templates to be available when working with a stereo project.
Fixed an issue that could create duplicate tracks when switching a project from stereo to 5.1 surround.
Fixed a bug that could prevent Vegas Movie Studio from reading 5.1-channel AAC audio correctly.
Fixed a bug that could cause the Slideshow Creator to display images from a previous project.
Fixed audio issues that could occur when rendering to Windows Media Video format.

Compare the build 293 release notes (now deleted)

What really was fixed between builds 293 and 295? Some fault we need not know?
MikeLV wrote on 2/14/2012, 12:02 PM
It was probably the issue I posted about with that DLL file, but still, I'm not taking a chance.
Roberto65 wrote on 2/14/2012, 12:06 PM
I tried the same flow used before to test Shadow text crashes with the 293 build.
With the 295 build there is no crash.
It looks more robust :-)

In the thread below
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=12&MessageID=795982
there was a post quoting the Sony tech response about disappearing keyframes
"There is a known issue listed in the database where the key frames move beyond the duration of the event. This is listed to be resolved in a future update of the application. "
Has anybody tested if this was fixed in b295?
crunchy wrote on 2/14/2012, 1:14 PM
Yes, a good question! Has anybody tried if keyframes are saved after closing and opening the project? I am still on version 220 just because of the keyframes problems. I need keyframes remembered in text and stereoscopic settings.
Editguy43 wrote on 2/14/2012, 9:07 PM
I tested keyframes in several effects, I set 6 keframes then closed and reopened the project, checked the keyframes and they were still there.

Are there certain FX that were affected or was it any. I do remember in the the last build I did notice they would not stick, now they seem to.

With some older builds I noticed problems with "Video Media Generators: Sony Titles & Text" (keyframes on Location) and with "Video Event FX: Stereoscopic 3D Adjust" (keyframes on Horizontal Offset). Could you test it?
crunchy wrote on 2/18/2012, 3:39 PM
Funny that nobody tried it yet on keyframes or had tried but did not report?
Anyway, I tried build 295 and keyframes are still lost (I mean it did not import keyframes properly for earlier projects). Probably it does not save them on "295" projects as well, but I did not test it. I'm back to build 220. :-)

I would again ask for help anybody who knows how to contact Sony to let them know that it does not work. This bug is, in my humble opinion, one of major bugs.
Roberto65 wrote on 2/18/2012, 3:53 PM
I can check and eventually send a ticket to Sony.
But, let me know what exactly is the problem.
Because keyframes can be put everywhere: effects, track motion, event pan/crop etc.
crunchy wrote on 2/18/2012, 6:15 PM
The same keyframes as mentioned two posts above: "Video Media Generators: Sony Titles & Text" (keyframes on Location) and with "Video Event FX: Stereoscopic 3D Adjust". Some of the keyframes are missing. It seems that during the import of project made on older builds (e.g. 220), some higher versions are loosing some of the keyframes. The problem is that in majority of projects I need keyframes.

Thank you very much! I've sent the question. Just hope that they'll correct it as soon as possible.
rdandrea wrote on 2/21/2012, 1:46 PM
Would be nice if the Release Notes had been updated between 293 and 295. Is it possible that just the installer was updated to get rid of the problem old DLL, but the code base remains the same?
MSmart wrote on 2/21/2012, 6:03 PM
I think SCS is overwhelmed at the moment. If you look at the Pro forum, they're not too happy there either. I still have an outstanding issue with DVD Architect Studio.

Not sure what the deal is with them, but I definitely think they've got a lot of issues they're working on. Stability of Vegas, Pro and Movie Studio has suffered.
vkmast wrote on 2/24/2012, 8:40 AM
crunchy,
re keyframes I did reproduce the same as you inform in your post above dated 2/18/2012 11:39:45 PM. Reported it too.

Still remains "to be resolved in a future update of the application", I guess.
