Yes . . . .  Somehow, it also feels that anything is possible.

This new ownership may just get me back to Vegas.. Liking the new forum.

Chienworks wrote on 8/24/2016, 6:35 AM

I wish it was a little more compact though. I like to be able to read more on a page and scroll a lot less.

vkmast wrote on 8/24/2016, 6:41 AM

Yeah, three one-line posts on a 15+ screen isn't much.

VEGAS_CommunityManager wrote on 8/24/2016, 8:18 AM

Welcome everybody,
It is very exciting for me too. Thank you all for the feedback.

@Chienworks: I think we found a good mix between compactness and usability/design. Keep in mind that the community members who are using smart phones should be able to click on certain buttons correctly and read text with an appropriate size.

Edit: If we get more feedback about the compactness we will have to re-evaluate the situation.

How about having the option to change the sort order from oldest to newest post on top?

I do welcome the larger fonts on the phone.

I also agree with Chienworks....I think most people are not editing on smartphones..meaning they are on desktops/laptops when they need to access the forum for help. Would be nice to compact it a little more.

Also, I can't find the search button.

lots of wasted space, very pretty but frankly not efficent.

and having to go to profile > settings > subscribed threads - i mean really!?

no returns at both of pages?

wider scroll bar on right otherwise very easy to accidentally click whaevers behind if not full screen.

i know early days, but come on, you're dealing with people whose time is valuable not a bunch of idiots who are impressed with pretty interfaces or have the time or inclination to click and scroll endlessly just to get somewhere that should be almost instant.

I, too, am so tired of everything being designed/rewritten for people who live on smarphones with little to no attention span.

Why can't the designers of this forum figure out the device being used and show appropriately?

I bet most of us reading these posts are on our desktop/laptop editing systems.

Former user wrote on 8/24/2016, 9:01 AM

Tom, I agree. One thing I noticed is no scroll bar on right to fast scroll down the page. I have to use the mouse wheel, which can be slow or use the click mouse button wheel, which I am not used to doing.

Only for topics, which are called post here but it's not possible inside the post or what we called thread.

And no Tom, I am on my phone and very much appreciate the fact that it is readable now. Yes, it would be nice if the fonts would change depending on the devices screen resolution and I guess, hope, this will come later.

I agree with others, auto-configure for those on smart phones and allow those of us with screens to pack more into the view.  How about a 'reply' option along with the 'quote' on each thread or floating 'reply' button, along a 'subscribe' button.  Take out the auto double line space on 'return' key.  A simple spell check would be nice.

Am I doing something wrong, because I don't see anyway to make the Vegas forum display posts that I've not read, and those that I have read, in different colors; as they were in the Sony forum.

wwjd wrote on 8/24/2016, 10:18 AM

reduced my text size in Chrome to 75%, makes this seem more useable.  more space, less info is not helpful, no.

John_Cline wrote on 8/24/2016, 10:22 AM

Despite its lack of certain features, I thought the original Vegas forum had perhaps the best layout of any forum software I used, very tight, clean and to the point, although the word-wrapping was a little odd on smartphones using certain browsers. I'll get used to this new layout, too, I do very much appreciate the added functionality.

I think MAGIX have done a fantastic job, especially as it's been a ground-up coding job. I'm liking the new functionality and I'm so relieved that the old content has been migrated over and the links redirect properly. Thanks!

Presumably at some point in the future the old Sony forum will get shut down, so now I'm trying to work out their redirect rule so that I can edit my couple of hundred forum bookmarks en-masse and not re-bookmark each of them. Any hints MAGIX?

Also I have to agree that I find the layout too spaced out. Been using smart phones for years but I don't think I've ever accessed this forum from one. It's always been from a PC. Some of my very long posts are now very very long indeed.

By the way there's a parallel discussion here.

Looks like they've done a good job with the Forum, although it will take a bit of getting accustomed to. Glad to be here among old friends.

vkmast wrote on 8/24/2016, 12:45 PM

Just can't get some links to work, like the one in Nick Hope's post.

NickHope wrote on 8/24/2016, 12:51 PM

I edited it and it works now. Not sure if that was my fault or the forum's.
