Great job you guys. I really like the forum look and functionality. I did notice that until I re-registered and migrated my profile / settings my original sign-up date was in 2002, but it's now today. I guess that is by design? Also, what does the little umbrella looking icon on the profile photos mean?
Is there a way to change the forum appearance? The font is too large. I changed the zoom setting in my browser, but that also reduced the displayed width.
thanks for your feedback! Yes, the original sign-up date is changed for now but we will try to change that. For now we are gathering and review every feedback we get.
The little umbrella is a representation how active/ how much you posted in the past. Also something we want to clarify better in the future.
We know the search function is still missing but we will work hard to deliver that feature!
@Tom: Your migration was successful when you go into your own profil (click on the profil picture in the upper right) and find threads or comments you made in the past.
Edit: Also thanks for the feedback regarding the email. We are on it!
I think I've made it. I look forward to exploring these forums and seeing how it develops. So far, I like what I'm seeing. I've added three people to my bookmarks of other forum users. I deselected all email notifications, so if you message me, I'll only see it when I log into these forums - I suppose. MAGIX is doing a great job juggling the switchover so far!
Here I am :) - looking forward for doing forum tool development.
Also, testing the new file attachment feature which we don't have on previous forum.. Should be more convenience if we want to attach a screenshot.
This is a screenshot of my Facebook post about this forum migration, and I had that 'unpolished' thumbnail thing which you may want to improve later. :)
I often want to follow a thread I have nothing to make a commen to -- such as is the case now. Is there a "follow" entry somewhere without actually contributing?
Thanks, vkmast, though I think I might have done that and am not sure it works. But it does make a lot of sense of course. When I say, 'I'm not sure', sometimes responses from this website take a very long time to show up -- like half a day.
Here's something new: When I respond to a forum notice by clicking on the line "Link to comment" the link takes me here but into the German version. OK, so I click on the German flag, which opens me to the language change page and after I click on the US flag a completely off the forum page opens. NOw I'm left to navugate back to this forum a search for this thread from the first page -- in other words, the link that comes with the email notice is useless. This must be a bug.
EDIT: I researched this further and learned that I can find this thread directly at the bottom of that page to which clicking on the US flag took me -- except I hadn't memorized the threads title. Upon checking my email notice I see that it arrives without any mention of the thread's title. I believe this should be corrected because from my experience with sevral other user group forums I know to have the thread's name already in the email's heading can be helpful in several other ways.
