NewBlue Titler EX is giving VP12 fits.

ingeborgdot wrote on 8/16/2013, 5:35 PM
I just installed VP12 on a different computer and everything works great except for NewBlue Titler EX. I am having a problem with NewBlue Titler EX- OpenFX.
It won't open. Well, it causes VP12 to crash so it does not get a chance to open. All the other NewBlue stuff works fine. Is there an update for it.

Do you have Titler Pro 1.0 and Titler EX installed? I am not sure if they play nice with each other.

I ask since Titler EX comes with Movie Studio 12 and Titler Pro 1.0 comes with Vegas Pro 12.

You should not be running TitlerEx in Vegas Pro 12. TitlerEx comes bundled with Movie Studio. Vegas Pro 12 comes bundled with Titler Pro 1.

If you've not updated to the current version of Titler Pro 1, that would be a good place to start. Remember that only the "Sony Vegas Pro OpenFX 64-bit" option is needed and all other Vegas options should be unchecked for Vegas Pro 12.

If you really do mean TitlerEx and Movie Studio 12, I have just received a newer version:

If you still have an issue, please do contact NewBlue support.

Okay, I see but how do I not get it to install in my Vegas Pro? Should I just install Pro 1? into both?
Now, my issue is I uninstall it but it is still in the program. Everything works except when you hit the titler. Is there an uninstall program for this? Thanks.
I have both Pro and Platinum.

I uninstalled Newblue, and no go. I deleted the folder and no go. I uninstalled Vegas Pro and reinstalled and no go. It is still there but now none of it works and if selected causes a crash which I understand because it no longer exists. How do I get it out of Vegas?????????????????????????????
ingeborgdot wrote on 8/19/2013, 11:59 AM
I have deleted every folder I know but it still shows up in Vegas Pro under FX. What folder can I be missing???????????

If any references have been removed from Vegas directories and
ProgramFiles(and x86)/Common Files/OFX/
and the program is still showing up, there are most probably registry entries that need to be removed. Search this forum for recommended uninstaller/cleaners. If you are brave and know your way around RegEdit, you can search for entries specific to Titler EX, but beware you can royally screw up you r whole computer there.

Is there NO WAY to get the newblue out of the FX section?????? I won't use it but if I accidentally hit it Vegas shuts down. I would like to reinstall Newblue but not until I get out the bad stuff I got in there.

I will look for a cleaner.

New Blue support is your best bet for help. They actually respond unlike most companies and super fast too.

I finally got it. I had to go into the registry and delete it. I will now go and install the Newblue Titler Pro.

I got it to work with your link. Now, for my Platinum. Do I install the bundle or just forget it? How can I keep it out of my Vegas Pro?
ingeborgdot wrote on 8/19/2013, 2:02 PM
Nope, I figured it out. It installed on my Platinum too so no need to install the other one, right???
vkmast wrote on 8/19/2013, 2:27 PM
ingeborgdot,
if by the other one you mean TitlerEx, don't install it if you want to use NBTPro 1 on both MSP 12 and VPro 12. I did and for me TitlerEx works only in Plat and NBTPro 1 only in VPro.

I had 6 student computers to install the newblue ex on because they did not work either. With that download, it looks great. Thanks so much for the help.

TitlerEx is bundled with some Movie Studio 12 versions. It will have a watermark in other versions of Vegas.

Titler Pro 1 is bundled with Vegas Pro 11/12. It will have a watermark in other versions of Vegas.

You should not use TitlerEx in Vegas Pro 12. You can use Titler Pro 1 in Movie Studio 12 but you would need to purchase a serial number.

This thread is also explaining the same problem I am having with Vegas Pro 13! I have the NB Titler Pro 1 installed (13 days then must buy it), but the NB Titler Pro EX is still there too, and everything I've tried, including registry "cleaners," has NOT be able to get rid of it; the error "Titler.dll is missing" and the frame is inactive for doing titles. I've post about this at Newblue as well. Waiting on an answer from them. These plugins should not be marketed without an integrated uninstall feature!

Is the "Titler.dll is missing" in Titler Ex or Titler Pro?

The initial TitlerEx/MSPPS release had an issue that caused that issue but was resolved in a later MSPPS release. However, you should not be using TitlerEx in Vegas Pro 13.

When upgrading to Vegas Pro 13, you were given an option to upgrade to Titler Pro 3. You can still get that offer by contacting support at newblueinc.com or Sony Customer Service.

If you prefer to keep Titler pro 1, you can upgrade to a retail serial number for $20 by contacting support at newblueinc.com

"However, you should not be using TitlerEx in Vegas Pro 13."

I know, that's why I am trying to get rid of it, but the uninstall routine is not in the programs list anymore.

"When upgrading to Vegas Pro 13, you were given an option to upgrade to Titler Pro 3. You can still get that offer by contacting support at newblueinc.com or Sony Customer Service."

I'll look into that, if the cost is reasonable, But that won't get rid of the current problem.

"If you prefer to keep Titler pro 1, you can upgrade to a retail serial number for $20 by contacting support at newblueinc.com."

I may need to do that in order to get it unistalled. The MSPPS serial on my paper index card doesn't work. When I installed it a few years ago, I had to get a serial number from support (I've since lost the email).
jetdv wrote on 5/14/2014, 10:12 AM
Please contact newblue tech support and we can get the MSPPS uninstalled. You just need to install it again and then uninstall.

We can also work with you to upgrade to Titler Pro 3 or get the retail Titler Pro 1 for $20.
