No OK button.in “Custom Settings” in “Render as”

Jeff-Rolando wrote on 4/9/2020, 3:32 AM

When I choose “Custom Settings” in “Render as” it won’t let me OK them. (In the screenshot someone sent me, OK is visible at the bottom.) It won’t let me scroll down, I am only allowed to drag up as far as “chroma subsampling” I can’t tab through, and I can’t grab the corners to make it smaller. I can’t OK the custom settings, and of course if I close, they go away. Even if I make the main program screen smaller, the “Custom Settings” are still full sized, and I can’t access the OK button.

Show us your screen.

That menu tile is ~970pix tall (in my VMS16), your screen hight is less than that?

j-v wrote on 4/9/2020, 4:32 AM

I think it is hidden behind your toolbar like here

You than must give the toolbar in the windows settings the possibility to disappear like here

I was able to move the task bar to the right, but still can't see OK, just the tabs. Also, mine is white, and yours is grey. Does that tell you anything?

I don't know what my screen height is. Dell Inspiron 13, 7000 Series.

No because I don't see tabs at your screenshot

When I dragged it all the way up, I could see the tabs, but NOT OK

When I let go of the drag, it popped back down

Does anybody know why the top of his "Custom Settings" screen is dark grey, and mine is white? Is it possible that it doesn't allow for custom settings in certain templates????

Did you try https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vp16-custom-settings-dialog-for-magix-avc-aac-mpg-too-big-for-screen--113387/#ca700708

Btw, which version of VEGAS Pro do you have?

See my comment on DPI scaling in this other thread.

Hi vkmast, Thanks for the reply. I have Vegas Pro 17, which I bought about a week ago. The link you kindly sent me to a suggestion made by NickHope (ALT + SPACEBAR. (Move) arrow keys almost worked. The arrow keys moved it just fine, but the suggested “When you are happy with its position, press ENTER” did not work, it moved it back. If I didn’t hit ENTER, I had no mouse to click on OK, even though I could see OK, because the mouse was moving the box too.

His final suggestion, “increase your display resolution” may or may not be an option, because when I went to Display resolution, I found it to be at 1920X1080 (recommended,) which Mr. Hope refers to as “the native 1920x1080,” though I am not sure what being “native” means. That was at the top of the list. The next two options on the list are 1680X1050 and 1600X900, and there are several others.  Do you know which would be best, or is it just trial and error? (I don’t even know if larger numbers increase or decrease resolution, but there are no larger numbers on the list.) Thanks

Did you read Nick here "This happens on a 1080px-tall display (like the Inspiron 13 7000 or the one in that other post) if "the size of text, apps, and other items" (in Windows 10 Display settings) is set to more than 125%."

Or the other suggestions regarding DPI scaling?

Jeff-Rolando wrote on 4/9/2020, 12:06 PM

Hi again Mr. vkmast, Thanks for your recent reply. It was very helpful that you knew what the size of my display was, based on the model of laptop I have. As I mentioned above, “Under “change the size of text, apps and other items” I found it to be at 150%(recommended.)” And since you (and Nick) wrote that “"This happens on a 1080px-tall display (like the Inspiron 13 7000 or the one in that other post) if "the size of text, apps, and other items" (in Windows 10 Display settings) is set to more than 125%” I was confident that this would solve the problem. Vegas responded immediately to the change to 125%! Thank you sincerely. I hope I can get Vegas to apply my changes as a default. Then I can do most of my work in the recommended 150%. (I wonder why the options of 126%-149% are not offered.)

(I wonder why the options of 126%-149% are not offered.)

They are in the "Advanced settings" of that Windows app.
Look here for that in my dutch version:

Thanks J-V, I found it in advanced scaling settings, and I can see the OK button even in 140%. Very helpful, I thank you sincerely
