# of simultaneous installations

I have been a long time customer of Vegas Studio and until recently never thought there was a maximum # of simultaneous installations for my software. I haven't upgraded in awhile, but recently been doing a lot more video work and I've been rotated through a few machines that I own and I got stopped during the installation on a new computer until I deactivated another.

When I log into the service center I see that my Vegas 14 only allows for 2 installations. I've in some forum posts that now that is 5, but apparently maybe cause I had an older version it was different.

I'd like to have up to 5 concurrent installations. Can someone confirm where this is documented? I'd like to purchase an upgrade for version 16, but I want to know what I'm buying. In short, does it come with 5 concurrent installations or just 2?

thanks in advance!

From the FAQ: (This applies to Movie Studio versions as well)

"9.  How many computers can I use VEGAS Pro on?
You can use VEGAS Pro (14.0 and later) simultaneously on 2 devices. There are 2 ways to deactivate a device so you can activate a different one:

Visit your MAGIX account > My Products > Show More Details > Deactivate. This option can be used only once a month.

From the VEGAS Pro Help menu choose Deactivate the Software on this PC. This option can be used as often as you wish. An internet connection is required.

Older versions of Vegas Pro than 14.0 are licensed under a system (as previously used by Sony) which permits use on multiple computers by one user; after an unspecified number of installations on different or updated PCs you may need to contact support to reset your "installation count"."

- For other possible options I guess you could ask infoservice@magix.net

Eric, don't rush into 16 as 17 is just on the horizon.

Hello, I've got Vegas Pro 18 but I'm no longer able to install it on more than one single PC. Do you know if there's a way to change that? Thank you

Log in to your VEGAS/MAGIX Account and see "My products" if there are two activations on one device. Deactivate one (see here).

The perpetual license should allow two simultaneous activations, the subscription does not.
