Where, exactly, is this message?

Try de-clicking the Solo button (exclamation mark) that you probably clicked on another audio track?

Off (solo) message appears on the other audio track(s), if you Solo one, VPro 12.

vkmast, that's it. I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree. Thanks.

There now seems to be a problem with Sony Vegas Pro 13 where the Off(Solo) message comes on for all tracks even with a new project. The ! trick doesn't work and I have found no other setting that seems to clear this problem. I now have to revert to Pro 12 which does not have the same problem. Does anyone else have this problem and know a cure? If affects all audio tracks as they are introduced.

By any chance have you saved "default track properties"? If you right-mouse-button click on a track you can select certain properties to be on or off, and then save these settings as the default for all new tracks. If you did this while a track was muted or while another track was soloed, then this condition would become the new default.

Pretty easy to fix. Unsolo, then right-mouse-button click in an audio track and save it as the default properties again.

Thank you for responding to this. I have checked out what you suggested, made sure that the track is un-solo-ed, made sure all the ticks in the boxes are entered so as ensure the full default, and reset, but it has made no difference. Unfortunately, the problem is still there.
Is there a settings file somewhere in the program directory that can be removed, so that all defaults are restored?

Unless I have missed something, I have already done this - under preferences. Is there a more general setting somewhere?

I have found the answer to resetting the whole program, and it does work but obviously you start the set up over again:

Go to start and click on Sony Vegas at the same time hold down 'CTRL' and 'SHIFT' together until a message comes up asking if you would like to set it back to default, tick the box and press yes.

Hi HardyProds. Three years later I had the same problem. My solution was something different. While placing a marker (press M) I had somehow pressed a combination of buttons to "mute all audio" (which is M under Options). They carried on being muted even when I shut the program and restarted and pressing Solo made no difference. The solution was simply to unclick Mute All Audio. I got there after a half hour of scratchign my head. Shows there is more than one way to muck up your settings!

Huge thanks after 6 additional years, you have saved me! :)
