Opening a Pro file in Platinum?

I noticed that Pro files are .veg, and that platinum files are .vf. Recently I sent a file to a friend so he could work on it and he sent it back as a .veg. Does anyone know how I can convert this file or if I can download the trial and simply copy and paste its contents? Would that work?

I once tried renaming it to .vf, it didn't work.

I don't think it's possible.

The Pro version of the program has so many more features and tools that down-grading a project file is not possible.

Don't know whether or not Pro will allow a save to .vf. You might ask him to try.

Vegas Pro and Vegas Movie Studio project file compatibility confirms what Steve said.

Vegas Pro 12 and 13 trials add a "Created by Sony Vegas Pro **" watermark.
