pan/crop tool is greyed out.

BillRankin wrote on 1/7/2019, 9:24 AM

I used the pan/crop tool to move the video clip where only part of the clip shows for a short segment. Now I cannot move it back. The dotted line that outlines the frame AND the dotted circle for rotation is missing. I cannot move the clip back to where it occupies the full frame. Is there something I am missing??? Thanks!

Best answer is to start over...that worked for me....the software performed as expected.

Perhaps you clicked the "Mask" line?

vkmast wrote on 1/7/2019, 10:20 AM

Try klt's advice and click the "Position" line?

I'm rarely quicker when the process involves typing or talking.

the pan/crop cannot be adjusted, although it looks like it fills the frame, viewer is on left side. When I click the 'mask' box the circle comes back and will move, BUT does not change the clip in the viewer.

I am using Windows 10 VegasPro 15

And now, when I move the upper right corner point it alters the same area on the monitor...you have to look close to see it. AND the circle is gone that rotates the clip. Also, in multicam it shows the clip fills the frame. No back bar at top....I am total lost on this

UPDATE: when fx button is clicked, it turns off the 'altered area' ....so disregard that.

as @klt and @vkmast were suggesting you selected not the pan/crop function but the mask function.

Right click in the Pan/Crop window and select "Restore." This will bring back the dotted square and the rotation and return the image to its original size. It would seem from your post that this is what you want to do.

Maybe, but @j-v's screenshot is replying to the OP's screenshot in his first comment.

UPDATE: Apparently Vegas Pro 15 has quite a few 'hiccups'. I just started using this software on a serious level (previous PPro) and I have come across several problems where something does not work like it should. I have to backoff/disassembly/delete the clip and start again, and then boom! It's working as it should....
