Paypal Charged but no Product

Arie2929 wrote on 1/14/2026, 2:27 PM

So I have been having issues with Vegas 18 for some time now. I decided to finally upgrade to VP23 and when going through check out I used Paypal for payment. Once I entered my info and submitted payment I was charged on my paypal account but I got an error on the Vegas website. I have already sent a ticket but is there anything else I can do in the meantime while I wait. I don't want to try purchasing it directly with my card in the event I am double charged for the product. This really sucks.

Hello. This exact thing just happened to me a couple days ago. I purchased a Sound Forge upgrade via paypal but the transaction errored out. Thinking it failed completely, I purchased directly with my credit card. Shortly after a paypal confirmation came through for the first transaction! Sure enough there are now two charges on my card, one to Paypal * Magix, and one directly to Magix for the identical amount.

I contacted support via the website on Jan 12. The autoreply indicated a ticket had been opened but so far no response! I requested Magix refund one of the charges, but otherwise I may need to dispute this via my credit card provider.

I'll post back with updates.

Thanks for your post. Yeah I'm stuck because I can't really afford to get double charged right now. I was thinking about disputing through paypal and then using my CC to buy it normally. Since paypal waits a few days to take the money from my bank. All around a very frustrating situation. I ended up reinstalling vegas 14 just to be able to finish the video I was working on since I still dont have the product I paid for.

@Ken-Gilbert @Arie2929 There's been a few Paypal problems posted recently both on this forum and the Magix Community forum. Whether it's a Magix or a Paypal problem I don't know.

But one comment, you can have many different versions of VP installed. You don't need to uninstall your VP14. In fact it is often recommended that you finish a project in the version that it started. Especially if the versions are years apart and going from VP14 to VP23 is quite a jump.

any update on your end? None on mine, really started to get irritated about this. I mean they took almost $200 from me and I have nothing.

I have gone through this exact scenario on January 11th. Purchased a Vegas Pro 23 bundle, PayPal gave me an error, tried purchasing again, this time with an additional add on in the cart I saw later, that one went through. Found out the following day that both payments went through, and now I've been sitting on a report ticket for a while just waiting to receive a response on if I will be obtaining an email with the license to download what I've now paid twice for - and the additional item added in my cart on the second purchase. Seeing this chain has let me feel better in knowing I'm not alone in going through this issue, but it makes me a bit more frustrated to hear it seems there hasn't been a resolution from any of these people.

I "think" I read about server migration some time ago. That might be the issue. But not replying to tickets is unacceptable. I use PayPal also when purchasing online, and in the past, I've received a confirmation email from Magix with all the necessary serial numbers and download links leading to successful installations of the software.

I too would be frustrated not being able to get what I paid for.

Hi All

I have now brought it to the attention to Magix of said users PayPal payment issues in the Vegas forum and lack of support.

See thread

Does Magix have customer support? https://share.google/Q4IUWsYllGo0wgeP7

Hi

As per Magix post in the Magix forums.

"Please rest assured that we are aware of this issue and are actively working on a solution together with PayPal. Our team is currently manually reviewing and processing all affected transactions"

This is a PayPal technical issue and not Magix.
