Permanently Disable Resampling

Hi everyone,

I'm using Sony Movie Studio Platinum 14 (build 148). The changelog says the options to disable resampling are there, but they are not. I need a way of permanently disabling the resampling, as it causes terrible motion blur.

I have around 1000 clips in my media library and work with a handfull at a time - it is not practical to go through each clip to individually disable the resampling through the switches menu. Is there any official way to permanently disable resampling?

Failing that, I see loads of posts offering a script to disable resampling for the media. Only problem is, I can't see any way of installing them in Movie Studio Platinum. Any ideas how I can get this working?

Thanks,
Hibblejaybob

Thanks, that sounds like it might just be easier to use the Switch option for each video. Is there any indication that default is coming, or is it a bug or what?

The only indication we've had is that it won't be coming. It's considered a Pro only feature so you will have to upgrade to Vegas Pro if you need it that desperately.

There was a long thread/discussion on this forum about all of this, currently ably summed up by EricLNZ as well here.

Ah, thanks for clearing up. I'd seen some posts saying it would be coming, and other saying it won't be. I'll just have to persevere one at a time!

Or follow Cornico's suggestion. But be warned you need to do it before you add any other effects as all attributes get copied.

It's not necessary to copy/paste event attributes to disable resampling from one event to other events and with the risk of copying also (unwanted) other effects.

Just first select all video events that need switched off resampling, before rightclicking and selecting "Disable resampling". This function is able to work on multiple events at the same time.

When using the copy/paste event attributes method for disabling resampling selected videoevents , you have to select first the source event, which of course already must have the attribute "disabled resampling". Then copy this attribute and select all the events that must have that attribute, followed by paste event attributes.

I think it's much easier just to select all desired video events and switch the attribute "disabled resampling" for them, with just one mouseclick, and that without interference of other set event attributes or FX settings.

Thanks 3POINT. I actually tried something similar before posting yesterday and couldn't get it to work so didn't mention it. But I've now discovered my error. After right clicking I tried to go into Properties to alter the resampling. But I couldn't because it was greyed out. Instead I should have gone to Switches which of course is available for selection. Thanks.
