First of all it would be better to use the latest build of Vegas Pro 17, build nr. 455 instead of nr. 284

@joseph-m Right-click on the audio event and select properties. If Time Stretch/Pitch Shift method is set to none, then choose one of the other two methods from the dropdown menu. That's all I can think of for now.

Intel Core i7 10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz (to 4.65GHz), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8GBytes. Memory 32 GBytes DDR4. Also Intel UHD Graphics 630. Mainboard: Dell Inc. PCI-Express 3.0 (8.0 GT/s) Comet Lake. Bench CPU Multi Thread: 5500.5 per CPU-Z.

Vegas Pro 21.0 (Build 108) with Mocha Vegas

Windows 11 not pro

Thanks! But i really don't feel like really doing ALL of this because im repeating very short audio clips together.

Although it was interesting!

Or wait... why did that not work? That is very strange...

@joseph-m Because later builds usually fix bugs and might resolve your problem.

Also do a "Factory Reset" https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/ as this sometimes fixes strange problems.

Will i lose all of my .veg project files?

Ok, I did it. nothing seemed to happen. My Video FX plugins, presets, and Audio FX plugins, were still there. Let me see if it worked.

No. Vegas Pro 17 project files are even available in later versions - VP18-21.

I find it hard to believe that you are still on the original release version (284) of Vegas Pro 17 - there have been 6 updates to VP17 since the original release. Haven't you been getting a 'nag' window to upgrade each and every time that you've opened up Vegas Pro 17 b284.
