What programs have you tried and what did not work? There aren't too many options anymore. I can't speak for the latest version of DVDA, (Version 7) but Version 5.2 is very stable and handles Bluray fine. It does not give you a lot of the fancy enhancements that Bluray supports (pop up transparent menu, etc). but it does provide full DVD and Bluray support for menus and chapters. But as VKMast wrote, Version 7 is not currently actively supported by Magix and can be purchased only by contacting Magix support directly.

Thankyou, sounds worth a try. How do i get hold of the 5.2 version that you have? I don't need anything to fancy. I have already tried wondershare dvd creator but the chapters for blu ray doesn't work, leawo blu-ray creator where the chapters only work if I trim up the video and add them but that lower the quality, my last one I tried was pinnacle studio 24 ultimate but that kept crashing on me.

DVD Architect 7 is a pillar of my business and I use it all the time. I would recommend it extremely high.

The thing that makes me stand out from my competitors is that I can make a custom menu with a scene selection with animated thumbnails. They just either have it play and have no chapters or just have a play menu and that's it, with no chapters.

Yes, with vegas you can either create the chapters within the rendered video file and export the video with the chapter markers in it (the render options before the final render button) and DVD architect will detect those and show them immediately or you can make your chapters within DVD Architect.

Here's what it looks like putting in chapter markers in vegas, for further use in DVDA7: (M key for marker) You can name them here (or in DVDA7) but I decided to just leave it blank.

Here is the correct template to use to have the video not re-render in vegas (you can set higher bit rate to about 20Mb/s max): You can change minor things like frame rate to 23.976p, 24p, 25p or 29.97p, aspect ratio , frame size (from 640x480 to 1920x1080) and bit rate, but you can't do VBR to my knowledge. ALWAYS separate audio from video or it will force a re-render. This sony AVC template (This is in veags pro 17, the name may be slightly different in older versions, like "Sony AVC...blu ray") does not include an audio file in the video render. I would suggest PCM or Dolby digital. The problem with dolby digital is that it maxes at 192Kb/s in vegas but if you render as PCM or uncompressed WAV you can render dolby audio in an audio re-render in DVDA7 (fine to do) up to 640Kb/s.

It is extremely stable and I have not had it crash on me in quite a long while.

The only problem with DVDA7 is that I can not use variable bit rate, to my knowledge at this time. It's CBR all the way for video.

Also, a big tip, do NOT let your video be re-rendered by DVDA7 as that will degrade quality significantly. Always use the blu ray AVC templates within vegas to ensure compatibility so it does not force a re-render in DVDA7.

You need to contact MAGIX directly. Please see again the comments above from myself and DougT.

It's not bundled any more with any VEGAS versions. You might find it in some older VEGAS Pro (not VP Edit) or VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum (disc) versions sold online by third party suppliers. MAGIX does not sell old versions.

I recommend that you try and contact MAGIX for an offer.

Without contacting Magix for a personal sale of the software (only way at the moment since it's not supported for further updates, unfortunately and sadly) I'd suggest buying Vegas Movie Studio 14 platinum on Amazon as that includes DVDA7 (version 7 is what you want, not version 5). That would be a disc copy but you can just use the update patch to the latest version (build 100) from some links on this forum website.

Edit: any version of Vegas Movie Studio Platinum at version 14 or higher should include DVDA7 if it says it includes DVD architect. More recent editions of Vegas Movie Studio platinum stopped including DVDA.

That's a good option (which I also mentioned) if you can find it at a reasonable price.

I didn't mean to confuse you with the vegas pro 17 comment, that's just the latest version I have of the editing software. Technically you don't need any vegas movie editing software to use DVDA7.

Yes, you can use premier pro rendered video files with DVDA7 but depending on how you render, DVDA7 may require a re-compression. You can manually add chapters in DVDA7.

I recommended Vegas Movie Studio 14 Platinum as it is the oldest version of this platinum bundle that includes DVD architect 7. ($32 USD on amazon right now for me, the disc version).

You can buy DVDA7 directly from Magix and it will be fine as well. I don't know their price at the moment, though.

This thread has the patch for DVDA7 to update it to build 100 after you have it installed, to update DVDA7 to the latest patch/build. This is just for fixing bugs and it's optional.

Sorry does vegas pro 17 have dvd architect 7 on as it is on sale for black Friday?

I rendered the file in premier pro in h264 blu ray format which gave me a m4v video file and wav audio file, I then used tsmuxer to put it into a blu ray folder so it became a m2ts file. Would this work in DVD architect 7 or not?

Sorry I just don't want to waste any more money on software that won't work?

Your third choice includes DVD Architect Studio which does not have all of the features of DVD Architect. I would not trust Ebay, that sounds like an illegal serial number and will cause problems when trying to register with Magix. The other links you posted do not indicate that DVDA is included that I can see, but vkmast is more familiar with those than I am.

Your links to vegas platinum 17 and sony vegas movie studio 11 do not include DVD architect. Vegas pro 17 does not include it either, you will have to buy an older version of the software that includes it like vegas platinum 14 or vegas suite 14 like I linked above, in the amazon co.uk website.

Note that the vegas version you will be getting will be outdated and will likely not be as good as premier pro that you have but the DVD architect program that comes bundled with it is what you want. It looks like a good deal for less than 30 pounds.

You could always contact magix to get it only, as well.
