Preview screen is black

Are you able to make a screenshot of the total interface while having that black preview screen and show it here through the button above your comment?

I'm not sure if this helps, the the above is a photo of it. I tried to do a screen shot, but when I did I thought the option was ctrl then PrtScr and I tried that then ctrl v, but it didn't work here. Not sure if this helps (because it doesn't help me, just shows my incompetence) but now that screen shot is the only view I have in my preview screen. If I hit the split screen button it will go back and forth between that screen shot in my preview screen or a black screen in my preview screen.

That link isn't taking me to anything. It relaunches this same page. I tried to look in the forum at others, but wasn't able to figure it out. I messaged customer support yesterday, but they still haven't got back with me.

I did the split screen button and that's the only thing that's given me any progress however it wasn't something that moved me further. I can post a picture in it and view it or the black screen. Something has to be off in my settings, but I just don't know where to begin. I can't view even their samples in my preview screen and I've clicked all versions of the split screen button. I just don't know where it went, since it worked before.

Probably because you activated that button with "clipboard" selected.
In that case you have to switch off that button completely.

I've watch a lot of youtube videos and tried everything they've suggested and nothing has worked so far. Seems to be common that people get the black screen. I've tried copy and pasting in a new screen, updating all my drivers, turning my graphics card off and restarting, turning my graphics card on and restarting, using the grid screen, any one else have a suggestion? Their customer service at Vegas is not responding yet. It's been a couple of days.

And you tried DISABLING the Preview button (no selections, not even clipboard)?

I'm not sure what that means. I've clicked everyone of those buttons--clipboard, fx, grid and tried all I can think of. Is that what you mean, or is there a "disable" button I can click?

My last attempt to help you. Try nothing else but only reset the program.
That you must do by doubleclicking the startbutton on your computerscreen with hold Ctrl+ Shift buttons of your keyboard. This will pop-up

Select there to "Delete all cached application data", after that click "Yes".
Wait untill the program starts and add only one videofile to your timeline and set the cursor in the middle of that "event" (file). Do you have now picture in your preview screen?
