Using Movie Studio 15.0 Platinum, Windows 10 with a 64-bit operating system.
I have been using this program for the last few months and have just run into this issue;
When clicking Preview- only the sound from the project plays but the screen remains white and no video is shown.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
After holding down Shift+Ctrl, a box comes up asking if I want to "Allow Movie Studio to make changes to my computer?" But after clicking yes, the program opens as normal without any further dialogue boxes.
Have I done this correctly?

My comment above gave the resetting advice link as well. You need to do exactly as the advice says.
